Ahoy landlubbers!

I'm having quite some trouble trying to work on the mod on my own, mostly because I don't have time to do all the things that I would like/love to add. A BIG thing are QUESTS.

I need help. Seriosuly, It's getting overwhelming here doing all the stuff alone.

But Vic7im, how can we help you???

Well it's quite simple. I've found a little program called Easy Dialog Maker (EDM from now on) that hastens the whole questing process by a LOT. The only problem is that (big surprise) I don't have time to sit down and work not even for an hour straight on this mod (not at the moment, at least).

That's why I'm doing tutorial videos on how to use this program along with an english translation of the EDM itself to make quest creation as easy as eating a potato chip.

That's when you, reader, come in.

I'm looking for people that know how to TYPE ON A KEYBOARD and FOLLOW VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS.

No programming knowledge needed, just some time to spare, the love for Gothic and this mod, and the CREATIVITY to create unique dialogues "a la Gothic", following your quest ideas or mine (got almost 50 quests done "on paper" that need dialogues)

I can't stress enough how HUGE your contributions will be with just a few minutes of your time. I'll be posting a tutorial video shortly showing how easy is to create a simple "fetch this Item for me" Quest.

Contact me in PM for more informations, questions etc.

Peace, Vic7im

Well, I don't think this mod will ever come back... I stumbled upon this mod years ago and even then it was dead! I hope someone will continue this mod, or that Vic7im will come back, but until then I'm just going to wait for the new version of Yet Another Unofficial Patch. That's what I'd suggest even now, though version 2.6 will add a lot of new things, like shields!

By the way, do you have any idea why your health drops to 1 when you are about to fight Moe ?

To all Gothic 2 players out there:
There is a translation tool for mods:
Forum.worldofplayers.de(-how-to-use-it)

To all Gothic 2 players, who miss DUAL WIELDING, which was also part of the Requiem mod: There is a mod, which uses the same animations and other stuff (see the screenshots in the releasethread):
Forum.worldofplayers.de
The Nostalgic Edition just adds new stuff to the vanilla game, it's not a total conversion.

I love this mod and I tried playing on all of the sites I could find that let me download it and actually play it (I only found 2). The first one was the first version of your mod, and while it was cool, it really didn't feel like the release. No shields, not many things added really... The second one worked, but some of the files that I needed to download were gone and the game was just completely glitched. We wait patiently for you to be back. If there's a downloadable version of Requiem that works, could someone point me to it? I really just love this mod too much to play Gothic 2 without it.

Been following the mod for a year or two, and i gotta say, really wish it was smaller in scale...
Gothic really has an amazing community, but so far i've yet to see a combat mod that this mod attempted to pull off.
Not to mention Combat is the one thing that stops many new players from getting into the game. IMO gothic is a legendary game not because of it's combat, but despite it.

For the other things the mod attempts, there is already alot of user content out there for it (maybe this mode can even contribute to another project):
-texture packs - already improve upon lots of things (vurt's, riis)
-quests :
plenty of quest addons (L'hiver, Returning 2.0, natures fury)
plenty of user quest campaigns out there
(golden gate, velaya, velen 2.0,)
as well as a gothic 2 prequel and sequel story
(History of Khorinis, chronicles of myrtana)

So imo finishing the mod as a combat mod was the way to go, especially if it could be used to work on another mod/story

edit: not the ideal place to ask, but if someone knows of some sort of list for the best gothic 2 campaign mod or something similar, point me there, as i didnt really get any google searches

One thing that made me worry about Vic7im's work on this mod is that he tried to alter too many of original game's mechanics which made things hard for him. Same for armor sets and other things aswell. I remember how he turned back from many ideas, losing time and enegry in the way. I believe this was a major factor for not finishing his work. Ofc, i cant blame anyone for abandon a 100% free project BUT at least he could have said something, like others have already mentioned! I mean, many of us, like myself, followed this mod for more than half a decade and we tried to help anyway we could! I really liked what he was doing and i was hoping to see it finished one day.
Anyway, i hope he and his family are safe and i wish him all the best!
For the rest of us, don't worry guys, many huge Gothic 2 mods are on the final stage like 'History of Khorinis' and 'The Chronicles of Myrtana'.
Take care all!!

hey buddy! totally agree with you here, sad it was abandoned but knowing the scale of mod Victim wanted to achieve was probably too disproportionate. However hope dies last and I was checking here from time to time for updates - his progress with this mod years ago was truly promising and heart warming, and I thank Victim for that!

GothicManiac - could you PM or post here links to your mentioned mods? are they in English by any chance? I was involved with L'Hiver mod in english, had some great ideas for improving it and enjoyed it very much :)

pfff I still remember contacting victim wanting to help him with quest writing .
Always coming to check out if anything new has happened ever since the gothic enchanted edition was released and requiem was a thing to come . As per usual i couldn't help much due to my studies . I wish though i had more time and i still hope that he ll come back and finish this mod . Cause for me it is the best mod for gothic out there so far .

So this is finally goodbye I guess... You should have said something. Some of us patiently waited and supported this mod half a decade. Hope you are well and hope that you will be coming back. And to all the good people commenting along the years, take care!

Yes, I hope the history of Khorinis and the chronicles of Myrtana mods and sailors of the storm might inspire him to focus a bit more in gothic modding.
Alas modding is time consuming, life is short and gothic is getting older and older and most important he did not have enough support.
But the good news is that these years are good for gothic community because great mods(total conversion) are going to be released!

Thats why you should work in a group, fixing all this bugs alone must be a nightmare, too bad it was the only gothic mod that I cared about.
