GoldenEye: Source is a Multiplayer only total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. Well what a day! With over 3000+ page views, thousands of downloads, and hundreds of players in-game, the team is very humbled and excited that the launch of BETA 3.0 has been received as such a roaring success. The developers have been in-game a lot as you may have noticed, answering questions and quite frankly just enjoying the game with all of you. Constant praise, thanks, impressions, and suggestions are given and we are very appreciative!

We are pleased to announce the GE:S team have 2 official servers currently, provided generously for free by ImpulseGaming.net that has some of this guideline in place, Check them out! and there will be 2 more official GE:S server coming online within 24 hours. There are dozens of other high-quality servers in the list as well. We appreciate them all.

This mod is pretty awesome! It's one of the only mods I've actually played more then once!

One issue I have, when playing team modes, having your team mates collide with you REALLY sucks. It should be no collide with team mates, like TF2/L4D.

I strongly agree with you on this, every time I hit another players model everything goes spastic and i twitch all over the place. Not only that but I get stuck in skinny hallways when people are standing there. Would play a bit better with no-collide on the players.

This mod would be so much better if it didn't revolve all around spawn killing. You spawn with no weapons and have to go find some, and this almost always ends up with you having to use just your slapper against someone with a gun who will kill you. You'll die over and over without having a gun. Now once you do actually have a gun, you just have to wait around where you originally spawned until someone respawns and is helpless. You kill them and repeat, and it got old for me after about 15 minutes. This problem wasn't in the original N64 version because it was only 4 players max. Perfect Dark helped this issue by allowing the slapper to take weapons. Until this is resolved, I don't see this mod having much longevity.

As you alluded to, this has very little to do with the mod and everything to do with the options selected by the server (i.e. max amount of players allowed and start with weapon).

I don't have that problem, when I spawn I use the radar to run away from any nearby enemies and I find a gun pretty quickly, you just have to know where they are. and why would you wait at the spawn to kill people? Why not follow the radar and kill someone? if there's more than 4 people, which is the basis of your argument, then you shouldn't have a problem finding other people to kill.

I like how there is no longer a requirement to lead the target by like 3 feet, im not sure why that was before but now I havn't had that same issue so whether it was me or something glitchy its fixed and I R HAPPY great job GES team keep up the great work.
