Paul Ramadier is a French politician and head of the Democratic party at the beginning of the 1947 start. He gets replaced later that year by Robert Schuman.
Historically, Paul Ramadier was the first Prime Minister of the French Fourth Republic, but before that, in 1940, he voted against giving Philippe Pétain full powers, who nevertheless installed the Vichy regime the next day. He was also a member of the French resistance, and eventually, when he was elected as Prime Minister, forced the Communists out of the government. Eventually he was the Minister of Finance before retiring from politics.
