Swaps all of the units and visual effects around so that all three factions can be played. The balance changes included in the mod address numerous long standing complaints about the original game while the faction swap provides a fresh experience to the gameplay. The mod has been built from scratch with full compatibility on all maps and missions in mind: Any map that worked with the original game will work with this mod. The campaign can also be played either as it was in the original (with the new balance changes included), or by using the previously inaccessible Terran units instead.

Report RSS Custom Map Pack Released

A collection of 31 custom GC2 maps has been put together and released.

Posted by on

The long overdue custom map pack has been released for Ground Control 2 and includes 30 community made skirmish maps and one single player mission. Head on over to the addons section to pick it up.

The map pack is compatible with the Reversal mod, but does not require it to function so you can play on these maps however it suits your fancy! Install directions are on the download page and in the readme file included with the maps, along with extra information, troubleshooting and credits.

Special thanks to filxx1 from the Massgate forums who originally had these files up for download back in 2011 where I originally found them. I'd link his site or dropbox here but haven't been able to locate it as of this writing, so apologies for that. Other than that, credit for each individual map goes to their makers, I only put them all together in one place for everyone to use. Hopefully these maps will breathe a bit more life into this game for anyone who hasn't had their hands on them yet, or hasn't been able to find them anywhere else.

I'm also going to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has expressed their enjoyment and/or thanks of the Reversal mod since its release over two years ago. I have a habit of creating mods for the games I like and never releasing them, but you folks have made that extra effort worthwhile and I'm glad to have had the chance to share my work with all of you.
