Hi, guys,

I know I promissed that article some weeks ago, but as usual real life problems had other plans for me :)

In this article we will show all space units for the Republic. You can count this article as outdated. As not all of them are ready yet, we will add them later to this article and of course will announce that, but we won't add other articles on the matter. This will be a really long article :)

So, let's start with the Space Station. You already know that we are going to use the Valor Space station as main Republic base in space. It will have 5 levels as vanilla:

Republic Space Station

The main backbone of any space fleet, this will be the bomber for the Republic through the Clone Wars. And as you know, we can not restrain us from any customizations, so we choosed the BTL for that. On the top picture you can see a Phase I regular BTL-B unit and on the next pictures you can see the custom ones:

Additional information

So, how custom fighters will actually work?

- They will be spawn only unit, the escort for a hero space ship. I'll try to explane it with this table:

On the left is the Hero you will see as an icon in GC or in the Space station in skirmish and on the right you can see what units you will gain ingame.

Of course other heroes that are not in the table, but are in the Space heroes list will also have Venator or other space ship, but they will spawn only regular units.

I suggest the procurator model from fractalsponge. It's much more reminiscent of the limited images seen in the old comics of large battlecruisers. Also you would have to have mandator 2 because the 1s were upgraded to the 2 standard since they had a hyperspace travel limit.

a mandator, tat way we can have the imperials have the mandator 2.

if you want some more out there ideas maybe a limit of 5 ISDs as the midway pint between capital and super capital, but i hope you guys do something original because just using one super ship would feel like republic at war, not that there's something wrong with that but mods should be about variety

So I understand if you don't want ISDs, but if you are looking for Super Capital Ships, then even in Canon the Republic used the Victory-class. Most of the other mods for this era use them too if I recall.

Well, depends on what do you call canon :)
I don't remember any Victory class in the movies or TCW. Actually what's the source for the Victory? (sorry, no time to do the research myself at the moment)

True. It is mentioned as being in service with the Galactic Republic Navy towards the end of the Clone Wars in the new Canon novel Tarkin. They haven't mentioned the separate Victory I and Victory II class existing, just that the Victory SDs did exist during the Republic Navy.

Nolanstar, yes, EU, but nothing canon. Btw, when and where exactly the Victory appears in the novelization?

When Kenobi is going to Utapau he compares the size of some sinkholes to being larger then a Victory-class
Star Destroyer.

From a new cannon perspective the Tarkin novel confirms it as a ship anyway.

Echo-Foxtrot, on the first picture is a vehicle driver, we already have them in the mod.
On the second one is a concept clone that we never saw in the show(as far as I know), but we are using the body design for Killer

You know how in some mods, creators use the turret stations to begin construction on stations parsay? maybe you could have the super capital be the Death Star Prototype, and have it take a very long time to build in GC, and in skirmish it would do very high damage but have almost no defenses and a super long recharge time?

From a logical perspective of something that can be done both realistically and balanced but is not too big so that it needs to be nerfed or shrunk the Praetor-1 is probably the best bet. Using the Fractalsponge Praetor design -which the EGTW endnotes confirm is the correct appearance for the 1) rather then the usual Taggeco Battleship model. Its a big 4-kilometer ship with a known appearance that can be done powerfully but beatable by say 10 capitals rather then a weird nerfed/glitch 8-kilometer mandator-1 or 2.

Or if trying to be different and sticking to "pure cannon/Disney" vessels as the super ship go with the Secutor as it showed up in Tarkin - something no other clone wars mod has done but the cannon status for republic use is literally a "maybe" - actually serious since the out of universe source said that they possibly saw late clone wars usage.
