GMod is a Sandbox Modification. Using GMod you can pose ragdolls. This means can position people from HL2/CS/DoD and change their faces. A big comic book creating community has popped up around this feature. Using GMod you can build. Take props from HL2/CS/DoD and weld them together to make walls. Axis a wheel to it to create a working car. Rope some cans to the back. A big contraption creating community has popped up around GMod - creating such things as Rube Goldberg devices, catapults, cannons, bridges etc.. Using GMod you can make your own weapons. That's right, make your own weapons. Using Lua you can create a custom weapon to do just about anything. If you're new you can change simple things like rate of fire, models, sounds. If you're awesome the world is your oyster, mass changing guns, melon cannons, jetpacks. GMod gives you the freedom to do any of these things in single player or online with your friends.

An old version of Garry's Mod, I am archiving it here as it is VERY hard to properly track down. This version predates Garry's Mod 9, but is newer than the 8.3a release.

why is it a .exe file?
It's the installer, Thats why it's a exe. It installs to the sourcemods folder

how to run this mod?
you need the full half-life 2 on steam first (not the demo), once you have hl2 on steam, run the installer, and restart steam

It's not a virus. This version has been played by multiple people who didn't have problems.

Garrys Mod was originally a mod for Half Life 2 - this is an archived beta version of the Mod, and i presume its official because the uploader was Garry.

Uh, i installed the gmod folder of gmod 8 in sourcemods, restarted steam multiple times but the game dosen`t appear in the list. Do i require an specific game or a tool?

People have been asking if this is a virus, but it's not. It was reuploaded by someone who had an old copy of Gmod lying around on a windows Vista PC or Windows XP.
1. Download the installer, it'll be needed.
2. Make sure it's set to the sourcemods folder. [C:\Program filed or something\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods]
3. Make sure that you have the proper settings on Source SDK 2006.
4. Enjoy an older version of Garry's Source Modification. (Garry's Mod / GMod)
