My team, jkberna and Djodar, my various esteemed collaborators such as Siber and Avatar II of the HW@ mod, and myself are proud to bring you the Galactic Council Mod, a bold project intended to show you just what really was behind those hyperspace gates at the end of the original Homeworld. So far there are three totally new races on the drawing board-- two totally original new races-- the Czalkir and the DR1, and another based off of actual Relic concept art that has come to be called the Lizaanj.
The lizaanj fleet...
nice and im on it furst
Close ups please.
There are close ups of all the ships in the previous images.
What's the thing over the corvs?
it's just the collector...
Next time, be sure to close all menu items (backspace 3 times), and add -ssNoLogo (with caps) to the end of the shortcut target line (must be after the -mod *******.big) to get rid of the Relic symbol in the lower right.
Also, some fleet picture tips... you want to cluster lots of ships together without any overlaping each other. Have small craft close to the camera, and the largest furthest away. Pick the background before moving your ships into position.
Start building your fleet picture by moving your larger ships next to the largest ship. At this initial stage, you need to decide what angle for each of these large ships will look best. Typically the shot as a whole looks best if all the large ships are facing the same direction, but different placements on the screen can change what angle you see each ship drastically.
Once happy with your largest ships, place destroyer and frigate sized ships in a region closer the the camera. Here you will begin to devolop your camera distance, as you want the large ships as close as possible to see as many details as possible, but then you also need to have enough empty areas in the shot to place medium and small sized ships. The destroyers will look good in groups of 1-3 in the foreground, but if you have several types, it is best to keep them seperate. Frigates of the same type should be placed in groups of 2-4, and sprinkled about the screen. Both destroyers and frigates should face the same general direction as the large ships, but they can be off from the large ships.
......
......continued......
Strikecraft should be used sparingly in the foreground, with more and more the further away from the camera. For a fleet picture, you don't want to have one formation in the center of your view. 3-4 further away will look better. You will probably want to have different kinds of strikecraft in the group of 3-4 as well, since these closest ones will be the only ones that you can clearly see. Sprinkle more strikecraft in groups in the destroyer/frigate and the supercapital ships areas to make the picture look more filled in. Close strikecraft look better facing the same direction as the large ships you started with, but the further away the strikecraft are, the more random the direction they may face. Just be sure to keep groups of strikecraft facing the same way.
Add depth to the picture with one or two large ships way in the background with escorts around them. These background ships look better if they are not facing the same direction as the main ships in focus (that you just spent an half an hour placing)
Finally, save the game, and then experiment with movement... order some strikecraft to move around, or undock, or tell some resource collectors to repair a ship. If something works, take a screenshot. If it doesn't, return to that saved point.
Lastly, post the best screenshot, and quit fooling around... there's plenty more ships to model, texture, hardpoint, animate, and implement into the mod. ^-^
what the hell
Hell_Diguner, you have too much time. i got bored with what you wrote after the first three sentences. Maybe just focus on the good?
I agree with Hell_Diguner, I want to see more detail and with this shot it's not possible.
Could you make another screenshot with the whole fleet, but this time in much more detail? I'd like to see that.
