It has been 12 days since FX:Galaxy V1.0 first released on Steam Workshop. It now has 1200 downloads (200 in Chinese), MODDB and others make the number reach 1600 in total. Players' support is our energy source. In return for this favor, today, FX:Galaxy have updated to V1.0.4!
This new version have not only completely ported all contents of old FX:Commander mod for homeworld2 classic (include Eden and Bentusi Defense), but also developed more as FX:C once planned (e.g. balance the Vaygr). Two months after HW:RM is released, FX:Galaxy have finally reached one of the basic goals of FX mod series, which is a well-balanced, multi-race skirmish mode with enough content.

[Changelog]
- New Single-Player Mission: Eden. In a remote Hiigaran outpost, a lone carrier and her escorts are to protect a field of resource containers from a much larger Turanic Raider fleet. A challenging mission where tactics and quick thinking save the day.
- New Gameplay Mode: Survival. The Bentusi were accused of delivering a dysfunctional technology, and the other race is not open to talks. Fight off increasing waves of enemy ships and aid the Bentusi the best you can.
- Survival is available under the 'game rules' option (Homeworld Remastered, HW1 Deathmatch, etc.)
- Many outdated HW1 models have been updated to their GBX equivalents. Voices for the races/units have been fixed as well.
- Balancing of the Hiigaran/Vaygr has begun. Vaygr have a new tech tree, Hiigaran have minor changes.
- Several others things. The full changelog is included in the download file (readme.doc)
[Manual Installation]
** We recommended subscribing to the FXmod on Steam (Steamcommunity.com) because it will automatically install and update whenever a new version is posted.**
- Download the .ZIP file and extract the .BIG file inside.
- Put the FXG.big file into Homeworld:Remastered's DATA Folder. This is most likely:
SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Homeworld\HomeworldRM\DataOVERWRITE any current versions of FXG.big already in there.

If you already have installed the FXmod at some point in the past, skip this section as your shortcut will still be functional.
If this is your first instalment of the FXmod, please do the following:
- Create a NEW SHORTCUT for the executable game main entry [HomeworldRM.exe] (found in ...\HomeworldRM\Bin\Release).
- Right-click the newly made shortcut > properties.
- Add the following commandline at the end of the shortcut's TARGET field:
-mod FXG.bigOnce done, hit "save/apply" and done.
One may wonder now with the race limit gone if you folks may eventually add in The Somtaaw - Beast or restoring the Hiigarans and Vaygr balanced to their former glory. Even entire races that existed only on concept would be possible like the Tobari or the T-Mat (Planet killer)
Of course one thing at a time one can also have some dreams. :)
