Freeworlds: Tides of War is a fan built Star Wars total conversion mod for Digital Anvil's Freelancer game that was released several years ago. When fans began to make mods for Freelancer, one of the many things people were keen on seeing was a Freelancer mod based on the Star Wars universe developed by George Lucas. Freeworlds and Tides of War were the answer to this outcry. The development team of both mods have now joined forces to create an epic new Star Wars TC, Freeworlds: Tides of War.
In our latest developer update, we show off normal and specular mapping, a feature completely lacking in original Freelancer.

awesome! also i was the first view :D
it looks like the normals are still a bit 'soft' on the edge of the fighter, the light bleeds over more than it should. other than that...amazing work!
Thats not because of the normal map, but because of smoothing problems with the model. You can also see loads of smoothing problems on the space station in the video. I'm on the process of writing a better model exporter so that we can eventually fix all of these smoothing problems.
