Freeworlds: Tides of War is a fan built Star Wars total conversion mod for Digital Anvil's Freelancer game that was released several years ago. When fans began to make mods for Freelancer, one of the many things people were keen on seeing was a Freelancer mod based on the Star Wars universe developed by George Lucas. Freeworlds and Tides of War were the answer to this outcry. The development team of both mods have now joined forces to create an epic new Star Wars TC, Freeworlds: Tides of War.

Oh man, what a crazy wicked week for model development

Posted by on

Normally, I would rarely post two articles within a week, but model development has been happening so fast of late that I couldn't help but update all our lovely fans and followers what we've been up to with our amazing new cast of modellers. We recently obtained two new modellers on the team, Warb Null, an amazing EaW modeller and Sizer, a modeller who worked on some FL mods.

That being said, here's an update on some of the new model development. Kalo went to work on redoing our Z-95. He was able to use this schematic:

and create this lovely work of art:

New Z-95 Model

He's now in the process of UV Mapping and texturing this fine new model! Warb Null amazed us with our new Jedi Ship to beef of their faction's ship choices. We looked for references to ships that were used by the Jedi that fit our timeline of 12 ABY. From this, we picked the Cutlass-9 Patrol Ship to be our new Jedi Medium Class Fighter. Warb went to work using this reference:

to create this fabulous model:

New Jedi Fighter

I look forward to seeing what Warb can do for us in the future as well as how this ship is going to turn out! The other big update was work on the Hutt Interceptor Frigate model which I showed you all in my last news piece. Lord X, or X, has really outdone himself in this model and I'm so thrilled with what he's done.

Using this image as reference:

He's created this:

The Wild Karrde was a heavily modified CEC Action VI Transport used by Talon Karrde

This however is basically an extensively rebuilt CEC Action VI transport, named a Interceptor frigate

Looks a bit like a customised version of a similar class of ship though, the front end definitely looks like an Action IV. Nice work on all these ships by the way.
