Frontline Chaos is a Total Conversion mod for C&C Generals Zero Hour. It will replace the original sides, and introduce two brand new armies: Revenant and Legion. The mod's goals are to supply a completely new story, including campaigns for both sides, and a balanced and fun multiplayer experience.

Something I've been working on for some time now. It's the start of (the new) background lore for the mod.
Short said: the story takes place on an alternative Earth, named 'Terra'. I choose for this as this gives me much more freedom on what has happened and what can and will happen in the storyline. Features from our universe will be used, sometimes directly, sometimes in a different way. Following is some text that is part of the image:

Excerpt from “About Terra; a compact guide to our world” by Kris Votr:
“If you would view Terra from outer space, you would see a blue and white marble. Take away the clouds, and more details would appear: large patches of land between the massive oceans that cover our planet. If we would ignore the smaller islands, Terra is made up out of five main continents: Jaezell, Erabrus, Gunger, Autica and Newtherlands. Following is a short summation about each continent.

  • Jaezell - the largest continent on Terra. Flanked by Gunger to the east and Newtherlands and Autica to the west, it is a varied swath of land containing the largest concentration of our planet’s population. The further you should go north, the less civilisation and the more wild nature you would find. This will continue until you run into the Meketh mountain range, which acts like a border between the main part of the continent and the freezing northern pole. It also features the site of the unfortunate Tunguska event of 2022 that wiped out one of the largest metropolises and sparked a worldwide conflict.
  • Erabrus – surrounded on all sides by oceans, Erabrus is similar to Jaezell as it stretches across the length of the planet, safe for the connection to the northern pole. Like its sister-continent, it features a variation of climates, from the cooler coastal climates to the extremes of the central climates. Erabrus is famous for its large jungles and forests.
  • Gunger – one of the more interesting continents of Terra, due to its shape that is not unlike that of a wolfs head. It is split by the Genzouh mountain range into the inhospitable desert side to the right, and the lush plains and jungles to the left. The desert contains a large oil reserve, and is responsible for the importance of this otherwise harsh area.
  • Autica – a varied continent which contains almost every kind of known climate. In the north-eastern part lies the largest desert on Terra. While not containing oil reserves like the desert of Gunger, it does contain large ore and mineral depositories. In the center, separated by a small mountain range from the desert, lies the main body of the continent. Most of the population of the continent lives here. Go further south-west, and you will end up in the southern pole.
  • Newtherlands – the smallest continent of our planet, it is also the most crowded one due to the mountain range taking up most of the space of the eastern part of the continent. Some consider Newtherlands not a real continent but a large state-island, which lead to heated discussions every couple of years when it is brought up.

Other places of interest are:

  • Imthek Archipel - a collection of islands to the north of Gunger, close to the northern pole. These islands are on top of the largest oil depository of our planet. Due to its positioning, over the years many conflicts have been between several countries of Jaezell, Gunger and Erabrus about who owns these fields.
  • Gensokyo – lying in the center of Jaezell, surrounded by a small circular mountain range. This area is heavily forested and rather mysterious as strange phenomena are reported to occur near and in this area. Planes have gone missing while flying over this area, satellites are unable to get clear images, and none who have entered the area have been reported to return. Due to this many rumours are going round, from extra-terrestrials, to secret army technology, and even witchcraft. No matter the reason, the area is shunned, and only the fool-hardy try to visit it.
  • Lych Sea – Jaezell also is the location of the largest land-locked sea of the world. Positioned close to the Meketh mountain range and the northern pole, it is unique that it can become partly frozen in the winter season. It fuels the large Klavier river which ends in the ocean many kilometres to the west.”

Wow, this is freaking amazing and deserves way more praise and recognition than it has. If I were you, I would recruit a team and move it to an indie engine, so you can get a larger watch-base. Try contacting people on different forums and spread the word; this is looking very, very good!

I have to admit that I hope this mod would be a prototype for a real game some day. I plan to slowly reveal more details about the existing history in future updates, so stay tuned :)

Really nice lore, there's lots of detail in it. Tracking.

To be honest, I got the names from Warhammer 40k, where Earth is known as Terra (and Moon is Luna). As it's supposed to be an alternative Earth, I found using these names an interesting choice.
