StarWars Chronicles is a modding project of the SWAT Development team based on the StarWars universe.
Eventhough this mod does not belong to our main projects yet we have put much time and energy in developing a StarWars Universe based on the Freelancer game engine.
The idea behind this mod is the creation of the StarWars Universe based on official sources with highest possible details. While the SWAT Development is already much known for purely LANCER related mods we have choosen the creation of a StarWars mod because of the very large fan community. Of course we try to keep up our very high quality standards and innovative features.
In 2009 the current project leader of this mod will get additional help and we will present our work here on moddb very soon.
One year ago Sim_Son, OP_R8R, and Reptile had a vision for a new and ambitious game concept. This eventually took shape and became the project known as Star Wars Chronicles. It is perhaps the greatest attempt yet to portray the Star Wars saga through use of a Freelancer mod.
For this initial version, 70% of the desired systems have already been completed and are ready for use. Great care is being taken to preserve the most important, original routes of trade from Star Wars. Those who are familiar with the films will recognize many of the planets, moons, and the systems that they populate. Distances have been drawn out noticeably and ship velocity enhanced to emulate the realism experienced in actual space.
Systems will include: Bastion, Bilbringi, Coruscant, Bormea & Darpa Sector, Bandomeer, UR-0173, Yavin, Horuset (Korriban), Roche Asteroid, Calamari, UR-0172, UR-0174, UR-0175, Corellia, Kuat, Denon, Jag'Dhul, Abregado, Sullust, Endor, SSI-Ruuvi Star Cluster, Dagobah, Utapau, Mustafar, UR-0171, Hoth, Bespin, Tatoo, Geonosis, Kamino, and areas of Deep Space. Y'Toub will be included, but later be expanded to include additional systems. Kessel is another system that will be present, and it will contain many secrets and navigational hazards (such as black holes).
The UR systems simply have no names in the Star Wars universe, and will be characterized by their coded designations. In our mod, the UR Systems are spread out along many crossings of trade routes, often physically removed somewhat from the rest of the Galaxy. Later, we intend to revise many of the systems and sectors, and rework Freelancer’s system map to make room for all the additions to come. But worry not! There will be enough shortcuts to avoid having to cross too many systems to move from one end of the map to another.
Ships in this mod are entirely rebuilt and given new hit boxes, variants, and coloration. A variety of weapons will be available to fit to these vessels. The aim is to allow each player to customize their character in whatever way makes him or her most comfortable - allowing each the freedom to choose whatever ship and details that best match their preferences. A list of ships is not available at this time, but they will be worked on more extensively once the systems and factions have been completed. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
Now, considering the Star Wars storyline, one cannot just leap in at any place in time. We have decided, therefore, to make this game’s setting during the period immediately following Episode VI. Expanding upon indicators and hints from related literature, we intend to create a universe in which the players can write their own, personal stories and choose their own destinies. To further facilitate this, players have the option of joining one of many factions.
All characters start out as simple civilians and must accumulate experience before being deemed ready to apply for acceptance into another faction. This will promote a more lively universe and more extensive trade activity. Factions can form clans, squadrons, or sub-factions within their internal framework. Factions include the: Empire, Sith, New Republic, Jedi, Corellian Security Force, Grey Jedi, Dark Jedi, SSI-Ruuk, Yuuzhan Vong, Pirates, Hutts, and Civilians. Smugglers and Bounty Hunters will also have opportunities to ply their respective trades.
The game will be fun, and the possibilities are endless!

Hi, small ad for a good game: Swat-portal.com
Watching, his cost nothing
so ive got a couple of small questions
1. will this mod be multiplayer only, or will it have singleplayer and multiplayer modes?
2. in the Crossfire mod, you have it so that cheating is not possible in singleplayer. if there is a singleplayer mode in this mod, will the same condition apply? i know that i am not the only player here who likes having the ability to do so in singleplayer.
dead?
on hold
If this mod is "ON HOLD", when will you continue to develop this mod?
im guessing after crossfire has been finished
In The Pictures This Mod Looks Interesting. But,Where's The Download??
where do i download this mod?
I have been having problems with my new computer (with Windows Vista) and the Freelancer Mods. Specifically the computer will not allow me to extract the .dll files. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this (besides a different version of the mod manager and a fresh install of the game)?
