(Before you continue, you NEED the Epic Bonus Pack which includes the Invasion gametype)

Fraghouse Invasion takes the normal Invasion gametype and adds some interesting twists to it, allowing for new maps and weapons to be created too.
Previously, the hordes of monsters appeared at Player start points. After a bit of experimentation, Parser managed to make them spawn at a specific actor and so we as a team built on the whole structure from there, adding new maps and weapons to the bundle.

The outcome is a fast and furious gametype (or two, as you'll see in a minute) that pits the players in a fort structure complete with defensive points and buckets of weapons with which to defend themselves with from the monsters.
The bots offline are pretty stupid. They will go Rambo and forget about teamwork, but online it's quite a different experience, as you might care to find out.
Also included is a Nalicow invasion gametype. This is the same as the normal FHINV gametype except you get attacked by hordes of nalicows, big and small.

Feedback is of course welcome, and if you plan on hosting a server or want to submit content for the upcoming map pack, please feel free to email Parser at

The Fraghouse Mod Team have released v1.2 of the Fraghouse Invasion Mod, which includes big fixes and modified maps. Here's the lowdown on the mod:

Fraghouse Invasion is a hefty modification of the original Invasion gametype (thus you need the Epic Bonus Pack). Whereas in Invasion monsters spawned at playerstarts, they now spawn at specific locations. This brings in a new tactical element of gameplay where the players have a "fort" structure to defend from the monsters. The forts contain plenty of weapons, powerups and ammo with which to defend the base from the hordes of monsters with.
New maps are of course a highlight, and new weapons, powerups and more tweaks to the Invasion gametype are also included in the mod. It is much more fun to play online with other people, because the bots haven't quite grasped the fact that they're not invincible Rambo-type characters.
That said, the mod is a refreshing change from all the WW2 and realism mods.

Here is the changelog for the patch:

** Translocator switch bug fixed - when you tried to change weapon with the mouse scroll or by using NextWeapon/PrevWeapon, it would not change. This has been fixed.

** Rust grenade now has a greater radius of splash damage.

** Big, fat nalicows added to Nalicow Invasion. You now have three types - Regular, medium speed, medium damage; Small, fast speed, less damage; Fat, slow speed, normal damage.

** You now begin with 500 health instead of 300.

** You can now get up to 400 shield points online.

** Added the FHI.u weapons to the .int file - the weapons will now work with [-will-]'s awesome WeaponStuff mutator (

** All the maps have been revamped. We've learnt our lesson as far as scaling terrain textures go, so the maps will look much more pleasing to the eye now! I've also noticed an increase in fps for those of you with lower-end computers.

** More Protection Vest powerups have been added to the maps to make the game a bit easier - it's quite tough online with 3-4 people.

** Removed those god-awful Boombags that shot rockets at you. I don't know how they remained in the monster list, but they're very annoying, so I ditched them. They're still in the pack though - FHI.Boombag for those of you interested.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome. If you enjoy the mod, make sure to keep tabs on the Extras pack, which will hopefully be available before Christmas, which contains more maps, weapons and.. *cough* other stuff for your monster-killing pleasure.

omg it seems no one is making comments about this mod!!!
i like serious sam and this struck me as having some of the most awesome weapon quality (i.e. mini rockets) of any game ever on the levels where they've given decent weapons.
doods, make a mod where you can fly around to use really high quality gllide gameplay with the engine, perhaps keeping the same weapns.
nice work tho !!!

This is Unreal crossed with Gunlock. Automatic ion blasters, Stones bag - gun, majorly powerful weapons, mobs and hoards of moinsters running at the base, you'll be tearing through a dozen balrogs and abominable rocket monsters with ionised rockets and Ion Guns.

There's also Speed rocket launchers, wicked graphics on projectile types, kindof exactly like Serious sam. perhaps one day this game will be as heavy as the last expanse battle scenes of Serious Sam.

Ideally, more mucazoid ghostly monsters, less dazzling monster firing, and more maps, more model detail, more guns, although already there's about 4 times more weapons than the unreal original.

Best map of all: FI_Monastery.

These guys are also making a flying mod, and the unreal engine is the best possble engine for 3d versions of old heavy gore arcade like gunlock..
