A long time ago I had an idea of a mod for Half-life called FBI Mod. This mod was for the original Half-life and was lost when I reformatted a long time ago.
After some months I started to play an early version of SMOD Tactical. I really enjoyed it back then since it had a more arcade style of action gameplay. I liked the realistic settings and the though of a Rainbow Six like game, but without dying after one shot.
I thought that SMOD tactical already had the "realistic" settings so I started to experiment on how to make the game more open, with more options.
I eventually wanted the player to be able to set their own options, with a kind of "Custom Game Mode" (Much like Im doing in Wolfys Mod for Bandits: Phoenix Rising).
Since Ive allways liked X-files and FBI in general I decided to try to creat a "Custom Game" feel and a "cool" FBI single player campaign in the same mod.
All with the hovering shadow of "tactical-arcade-action-realism" over it all.
The result so far is the early version you can download on this mod profile.
The "Arcade" maps is a try to create the custom game mode...and the very early single player map is my try to create the FBI singleplayer campaign.
So what will happen now? Well, for one thing I would like to say that Im a bit disapointed that a mod that I worked on a LONG time ago and not under a very long time, is still being downloaded by the hundreds instead of Wolfys Mod which I have worked on alot and still are activlly working on.
Anyway this mod is still my baby and will not abandon it. 2009 will probaly be a very bright year for FBI Mod, its to bad that I can't promise anything, but there should atleast be one new version in 2009.
Stay tuned and well se what will happen. The mod is NOT dead and it will most likelly be more alive in this new year of 2009.
If anyone have ideas, tips, models etc feel free to tell me. I might not add it but I WILL listen.
