Farm Cry is a mod under devolpment by Toxicdream Studios.
- Gameplay is based around running a farm and competing against others online.
- Farm Cry will be round based, each round lasting a maximum of about 30 mins.
- At the start of each round every team will start with a small farm, single tractor and tools.
- More tractors, tools, crops, trailers and silo space can be brought from a shop.
- Farm cry will use tractors from our sponsor New Holand Tractors
- The aim of the game is to make more money than your opponents.
- Currently no single-player is planned but it is a possibility

Neat idea! I think there was a retail game released about this subject matter not too long ago. Hopefully this mod will be able to trump it :)

The only retail game ive played with anything to do with farming is Harvest Moon on the snes
But Farm cry is multiplayer....
Well, i never played harvest moon, But this mod is going to have lots of effort put into it im sure. Its not to everyone's taste, but we want it to be a litle bit of fun. Im thinking about having one or two weapons (Shotguns) just for the comedy.. a farmer and his shoot gun. Maybe a mini game inside. Shot pheasents? lol
How about shoot the crows ??? or the rabid rabits ??? I could code them to eat crop

Hahahaha, this looks great.
I seriously hope this plays something like Science and Industry. Just imagine working at high speed to raise crops while at the same time defending your farm and sabotaging other peoples, by racing through it on a tractor loaded with salt.
Although I suppose a serious approach could work, too.
Im not sure about sabotage because im sure that 80% of the players would run off and start destroying the other farms when this is more of a sim...
But ya never know ... ;)
How about training "battle cattle"

lol...the name gave me a chuckle. Farm Cry...but seriously, this is a very original idea. And the strategic implications...you know, like starting off with a sum of money...do you decide to buy better tools, vehicles, or do you buy more expensive, but more profitable crops? Do you decide to farm the land or graze it with animals? etc, etc.

I would really like a Science and Industry style system. It could only work if one had to buy new techs instead of voting on which techs to relearch, otherwise people would most likely take sabotage too far. I really like the idea though, it sounds like a lot of fun, and has infinate possiblity down the line for spin-offs. ;)
