view to mapboarder. it was very, very very hard to mask the mapboarder, usually we farcry mappers use a simply ocean shoreline, but nearly all my maps have a different location -.-
A mountain horizont as a border? Neat solution.
But what if player is in a height? Then there will be seen the "ocean" or something else?
i try to cover such points, actually it's not possible to look outside the map, it was very timeconsuming.
i think, if player climbs on some mountains in the middle of the map, the distancefog should hide the horizon behind the mountainwalls.
actually it works very well, but we will see how it works for the gamers :/
the problem is, that i always try to keep the possibility to climb even on that mapboarder mountains, but dont allow to look to ocean :D so the mountains are mostly "thick", without looking like a boarder.
Interesting. Do you have a photo of it? I'm wondering how it looks like. I mean the accessible & inaccessible part of the border + the ocean, in the best case.
no, i dont have and actually it's part of the explorable gameplay. you can and you should climb all mountains you find, including the mapboarders, i try to set up intresting spots even on those places.
all four boarders look different and other "barriers" which also alternate within each boarder.
but you won't walk along the boarders trough the map, it's maybe possible but it will take to long and make no sense, except you try to avoid all fights, but then the chance that you simply starve to death is very high, also falling damage may be a serious risk.
but I'm totally aware about the GTA mountain exploration problematic, i'm also byself the type of player who try to reach really *every* possible spot in expecting to see something new / hidden, so there is some work to do there :D
Ahhhh, nice !
thank you :)
