This mod was intended to celebrate the Fifth Anniversary of the FarCry website 'crymods.net'. Development stalled around JULY2014, with focus on new projects. Black Holiday MOD is now finished. Gun Collection MOD should be finished late this year (2017). Then it will be time to finish [5]. Maybe in time for crymod's tenth anniversary, LOL. ie. 23MAY2019. Most of the map is complete and in a playable state. But a thorough revision is needed.
crymods.net was established in MAY2009 by Tnlgg, following the demise of FarCry Community Maps (FCCM). It provides a large downloads section of maps, mods and resources; and a Forum for the community. I began this map in 2012, plenty of time I thought, to finish it for the 5th Anniversary on 23MAY2014. So now it is done, 6 months short of the 10th Anniversary. Of course I have many excuses for the delay.
The gameplay is for Jack to collect thirteen music CDs for the party, leading up to the fireworks display at the end. If you stand back from each CD a few metres, you can listen to the songs. Or, step right up and collect the CD.
Locations include Pyramid, Temple, BEX, Freighter, Maze, Zoo, Mine, Castle, and more. Enemies are standard mercenaries and some mutants. The suspension bridge, Three Sisters and the Ocean Road are real locations from where I live.
Models are from several sources: Matto, sniper_m4, Tnlgg. Some, the hares, the service station, I don't know who to credit.
Thanks to Purifier for help in early stages, and Lionel for Design Suggestions and testing throughout. Level design is non-existent, just a bunch of locations to hide the CDs. 90% of the map was finished in 2013, when I was a beginner, apologies for noob mistakes and taking so long for the final 10%.
I hope there are some diehard FarCry players still out there. If you don't play, maybe just watch the video, I hope Vobler 63 can repeat the excellent videos he did for 'Black Holiday' and 'Gun Collection'.
FarCry Forever.
Cheers, VET.

After all these years it is finished. I suppose I made this mainly for my own enjoyment,so my taste may not suit everyone.
It's about exploring and collecting, I am not really into the mutants and a crazy lot of combat. If you want a long afternoon of gaming, and enjoy 70's music and a little bit of shooting, it may be for you.
It's not completely finished, these things never are. it could be made better, some of the weird stuff edited out, and there are always ideas for new things to add.
Time to call a halt. I hope someone enjoys playing it, I certainly enjoyed making it.
Cheers,
Beverley. =)
Very pleased to hear a mod in the class of "FarCry Gun Collection" is being made. It will take a time, we must be patient.
Crymods.net's ninth anniversary this May2018. No chance of meeting that deadline, but here's my gold plated guarantee it will be finished for the tenth anniversary in May2019. I need to complete it and get my life back from the editor prison.
FarCry5 is out, with an 'Arcade' style mapping editor, so that will be another nail in FarCry1's coffin. I expect to save a lot of time by not playing FC5 though.
This is going to take longer than I thought. When I started this, I knew nothing. I even placed vegetation (trees) using simple entities. Even brushes would have been better, let alone painting them on with the Vegetation Painter. Also a lot of weird quirky stuff I was experimenting with, like the houses of the three little pigs, and the animobject skeleton (a victim of lung cancer).
All the no0b mistakes are there, mercs falling off cliffs or walking into the ocean.
It can only get better, lol.
Crymods is coming up for their ninth anniversary in May2018. So Tenth Anniversary release is looking good. All you need is a new loadscreen, lol.
I'll leave the original loadscreen, as a monument to failed deadlines everywhere. Five years late is pretty sad. But at least, it will be finished eventually.
Exactly the same style sir. I started this mod 3 or 4 years ago, with the same theme of collecting items. In this case Music CDs. Purifier made the jewel cases for me in the days before I met 3DMax. Mod will be a large download, mainly because of the music wavs. I may yet get the 'treasure counter' script to work with the CDs. The mercs own all the music, so a few will have to be shot to give up their collections.
Made by same modder as "FarCry Gun Collection" mod. I hope it is a similar style.
