Far Cry 4: Redux is the newest in my "Redux" line of FC mods. It's focused on immersion, and improving the original game.
Ubisoft's sale of their games has been running for a few days, but there's still time to pick up some solid deals on their titles (more varied and well regarded than their modern open world fare, at least as far as the back catalogue is concerned) - and if you do pick up a last minute deal, here's a few mods to help get you started!
An immersive overhaul of Far Cry 3, with a focus on balance instead of brutal challenge. Auto reload is disabled, forcing players to take their arsenal more seriously; whilst ballistics and weapons, as well as the crafting systems of the game and AI encounters, have all been rebalanced to encourage careful and conservative play. Camo outfits have been added to feel like you're blending into the dangerous jungle as you stalk the island.
Experience Assassin's Creed II, a game released in 2009 with completely remastered and improved textures, visuals, character skins and effects. This project is a total texture replacement pack which aims to make the game look as beautiful and realistic as possible while keeping the original feel of the game.
This mod increases the realism of the game. All weapons received adjustments matching their real life counterparts, with most weapons now having slightly better penetration. Weight and fire rate are also more realistic, infinite pistol ammo has been taken away as a safety net, and movement values relative to the weapon being used have been adjusted for a greater choice emphasis when
Elite Counter-Terror is a modification for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 that alters how the squad artificial intelligence performs. Rainbow Six's tense squad-oriented combat is essential to the immersion these games excel at, and so any bolstering of the game's AI to produce more realistic (and competent) allies is a welcome addition.
Far Cry 4: Redux is the newest in a "Redux" line of FC mods. It's focused on immersion, and improving the original game. Far Cry 4 had the unenviable task of following up on what many consider the best game in the series, and whilst for most it fell short, those wanting something familiar might find what they're looking for in FC4: Redux, which overhauls the gameplay, fixes bugs, and streamlines the experience for repeat players.
There's our picks for five games and mods from the Ubisoft Sale, which has been running for a few days and wraps up on March 9th at 6pm UTC. There's plenty more mods across Ubisoft's titles, for the above and more - are there any you're looking at digging into? Let us know down below!

Hey there, so far I'm really enjoying this mod! There are a few things however, that I was wondering if you could change.
1. The increase in FOV is crucial for combat imo, but when looking down while walking around, Ajay's kneepads or shoes (I'm not sure which) can be seen.
2. The awful bokeh effect in the distance is still present, especially on the "low post fx" setting. It sort of flickers and is really distracting. A camera like depth of field effect is also applied onto guns while aiming down sight. Do you thing you could remove this?
Love your work!
Thanks. Glad you're enjoying it!
Hmm. I did remove DoF. Can you take a pic of what you mean? Have you tried setting POST FX to it's highest setting, OR setting Post FX to 0 in the gamerprofile.xml file?
Also, the feet are just a side effect I can't get rid of...
Fixed it by changing Post FX to 0 in the config file. Thanks!
Hey again, I've been grinding Far Cry 4 since last. I am quite enjoying it. I have a few questions though.
1 . Is it possible to increase the density of grass? I'm sure it'll decrease performance quite a bit, but I can't stand the patchy mess many areas have.
2. What's your take on this lighting mod?: Nexusmods.com - Do you know if I could merge it into this mod?
Edit: Could you remove eagles as well maybe? I'm so tired of constantly hearing every single NPC scream: "Ah, EAGLE!!!"
Thank you for your time.
Was this a stupid inquiry? If so sorry for wasting ya' time.
Not at all! I don't get notifications for mod comments for some reason, so I don't always see them.
1. I don't think so. There are no obvious density settings for this kind of thing.
2. That's a cool lighting mod. That modder does excellent lighting mods for most FC games.
Both the lighting mod and no eagles mod should be an easy drag and drop addition to Redux.
Do you know how to unpack and repack a far cry mod?
No not really...would appreciate some help. Do you have discord?
Drive.google.com
my friend can you please share this link again It seems to no longer exist
Hey,
I have greatly reduced the amount of eagle attacks in the newest redux.
Is that what you're looking for?
You're the ******* man.
how do i install this?
Go to your FC4 install directory, and locate the data_win32 folder.
Inside you'll find patch_hd.fat and patch_hd.dat.
Back these original files up
Copy the patch_hd.fat and patch_hd.dat files from the Redux mod to that folder
Thanks for the help! I already love this mod from what i played so far. does this mod allow me to visit areas like the Durgesh Prison?
hey ive used your fc3 and 2 redux and both were great and now I recently downloaded fc4 and want to play the game with this mod and I guess im supposed to replace patch_hd in data_win32 folder but in my game there was only patch.dat and .fat and ive no idea what im supposed to do. mine was a torrent download(21gb) from otorrents website by rg steamgames pls help
No patch_hd sounds like it's the original, unpatched retail version.
Don't use that. The game is fairly cheap on 3rd party sites like cdkeys, but if you are using a bootleg, try something like fitgirl's repack. It needs to be 1.10
