False Destination is part of a larger unfinished mod that was supposed to tell the story of Gordon Freeman found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
An overlooked mod that stands among the best. It's short, but not "demo level" short. This will keep you entertained for a solid couple hours. It's fresh and keeps you on the edge of your seat with excellent exposition and mapping.
A little dark. Too much flashlight play. Works as the intro to part of a bigger story, but can be kind of annoying if that's the main focus of a release. Had to mat_fullbright a few times to find a dark entrance way. Level design is otherwise interesting and engaging.
Spooky horror element. Nice sound effects and spoopy atmosphere. Although it felt a little samey after a while. There's only so much sewer a man can take.
Great setpieces. Impaled Combine pinned up against a concrete wall? Reminds me of home.
Lots of health. Too much health. Lots of ammo, too. Kinda spoils the horror vibe, traipsing around armed to the teeth.
But once the action hits, the pace is absolutely riveting. Great use of music to complement the frantic firefights and frenetic gunplay.
Loved the warzone aesthetic. Impactful and emotional. Really feels like I'm in the ****.
Zombie fights that felt challenging and blood-pumping. Combat in general is fast-paced, intense, and well thought out with varied arenas that discouraged camping and encouraged movement from cover to cover.
Really does feel like a chapter in Gordon Freeman's adventure, but with a heavier focus on horror. Nicely done.

Another good mod from these developers. Interesting in its own way, though quite short. But still there is not enough originality of the plot, in my opinion.
A wonderful mod with very good level design and diversity of the gameplay. I really liked the escalation of the situation - from a slow horror to an action-packed street war.

Beautifully done - it almost reminds me of... well, there used to be this software house called Valve. Heaven only knows what happened to them.
I really hope we get to see more of this mod - is there any chance of it being finished?
