The first segment is Mandrake stalking the player in a dark mine shaft.
The second is Mandrake agreeing to follow you after you use High Perception, Charisma, and Intelligence to convince him to help you escape.
Later he gives you a stealth-boy, but warns you that continual use may have unintended consequences.
You ask him, "uh, how long does this stealth-boy take before, you know, scrambled eggs?"
It may have repercussions for one of your party members who frequently uses the device.
Awesome. Just awesome.

Thankfully, there was no one there(I hope).
Crazy; yet is very aware of himself, his surroundings, and the effects of the stealth boy...to an extent.
