Fallout: New California adds an all new story around a new player character, an adopted resident of Vault 18, embarking on a journey through the wastelands of the New California Republic's Cajon Pass. An unofficial prequel to New Vegas, FPB adds hours of new gameplay and a fully voiced stand alone campaign.

Post news Report RSS [Fallout: Project Brazil] State of the Mod for November Part 2

With our leadup to a very rocky BETA this December, we're starting to see the vision crystallize out of the mist. Here are some samples of the quality voice work in the mod!

Posted by on

Last week we started to show off the finished Loading Screens for FPB! Now we're starting to reveal some of our voice acting! :D Voice work started September 6th, and went until October 24th. Every day was at least a 2-8 hour recording session. It was a very intense schedule, and only about 30% of it is done editing so far.

Project Brazil is a massive project. Not because it's taken 6 years, but because we've spread out so much dense high quality material across such a large area. With between 2 or 4 people working on the mod essentially on weekends, around college, and day jobs. That 6 years could be distilled down just just 3 of active work. And then there's me, the Hollywood guy, where I'm suddenly off a film for a couple months in a row looking for work, and that's when most of FPB has been created.

New Plasma GatlingCanon WIP from Tau34RUS for our final Boss Battle

With Fallout 4 coming out I know folks are losing their minds - some say people will move on and forget about us. Nah.

If your PC can run Fallout 4, it can run New Vegas with the Rudy ENB, so it'll feel a little clunky coming back, but it won't look bad. Plus, between FPB and The Frontier, we're basically offering a week straight worth of Fallout game-play that all ties together neatly. The engine may be old, but the experience is new.

Behold!

Part 1/4: Primary Side Quest NPCs

These are characters that in some way help you navigate the Main Quest. Giving helpful hints, providing guidance, or sometimes acting as the alternate route to accomplishing your goals.

Mandrake the Nightkin - Mod DB

Mevil the Voiceless - Mod DB

Chieftain Raz O'oga - Mod DB

Kieva Nanjima - Mod DB

When I was a kid, I used to open up the CD-ROM and play all the voice files in the games I loved. I always wondered what it'd be like to make a game like that. I thought it was impossible.

Well, over a decade later, now I know.

You can read more about our progress on the Design Documents Found Here. In the mean time, you can keep track of us on ModDB, Fallout Nexus, or Facebook. We've got a thriving online community centred around each one.

Cheers

The Shi in Fallout 2 were of Chinese descent. I'm sure they'll explain why she's Japanese in the mod.
