The Frontier is a DLC(But bigger) sized mod that aims to bring a unique experience to Fallout: New Vegas. The Frontier takes place in the frosty areas of Portland Oregon, where the NCR and Legion fight over the frozen city.

The team behind Fallout: The Frontier has just released a new trailer for their massive Fallout: New Vegas Mod, which can be viewed above. The mod, which moves the action to the snowy terrain of Portland, Oregon, gives players entirely new environments to roam. The team says the landmass equates to 16 square kilometres (larger than New Vegas’ Mojave Wasteland), and features new weather effects that also affect survival gameplay.
The team describes how they settled on Portland as the game’s location:
“Portland, Oregon was chosen for many reasons. I know some of you from Oregon may say, there is no way in hell that Portland gets this much snow and some location in Canada may fit better with the Frontier. While this is true, keep in mind that it would have been even harder to fit the NCR and the Legion that far up north with a reasonable explanation. Right now, the reason for a lot of snow in Portland is, when the nukes hit this location, a cloud of dust and ash went up and blocked the sun. So everything under, essentially froze over.”
The mod’s story sees you trying to survive the cold, as well as threats from the Legion faction and local scavengers and slavers. The team also says the moral choices present in Fallout’s official quests will play a large part in The Frontier’s scenarios, though they’ll be based around the theme of survival against harsh conditions. In addition to the freezing wasteland, The Frontier will also take players into space, where they’ll fight low-gravity battles on orbital platforms
Fallout: The Frontier has not yet been released, but the FAQ estimates work is almost three-quarters done. The mod will require a copy of New Vegas as well as its four DLC packs, since the mod uses content found throughout all of them.

LMFAO ... the devs of this mod removed the reviews so that it wouldnt be downvoted to oblivion.
And it doesnt wonder why it would be downvoted to oblivion ...
This isnt a Fallout with its deep lore and immersive quests which offers a certain level of non-linearity even in quests alone. This is a "Fallout : Rule34" edition which was made by kids in adult bodies. Cringefest.
I had a big expectations for this mod - but if I could review it now, I would give it 1/10 just because of how insulting this is to the whole Fallout lore. Objectively, not everything is truly bad - but its more waste of your time, there are plenty of other Fallout mods to play with.
Overall, my focus regarding the Fallout is purely now on Fallout : Horizon, Fallout : New California and potential Fallout : Miami in future. Forget about this mod - at least until someone cleans out the cancer from this mod, but even then, the holes will be left.

And no, not all of the modders were bad, some made amazing work, like the guy who implemented vehicles, for example.

I dont need to justify my criticism of this mod, as it was presented as much more serious mod initially, and there is no way that other lead modders didnt know about this. They well knew, but because many of them were manchildren, they let it pass ...

There is not any fallout game at all where you can join the Enclave so there is no point in raging about that, Enclave it's bad, no surprise.
you can join an evcil faction, you dont know how long it takes to make a job like this , if you dont like it, dont harass the work they did for free with so much hatred, start working on yours or get over it.
about the fetish and crazy stuff: Fallout itself it's silly and crazy , breaking the 3 wall since Fallout 1 with pop culture references, direct talking to the player and sexual things all over, getting angry for that does'¡t makes sense either.
I hope the team resolves the REAL problems , wich you really know what they are, and this good job comes out again, stop saying this is crap because it's not, they don't deserve this, you get it for free, and i saw crazy people ranting like they had to actuallly pay a lot for this, dont like it, dont dowload it, but nno need to bring down A LOT of persons works.

Heres my advice to you - stop moralizing and pretending to be above the others. This mod is crap, polished turd, I have a right to say that. Its 7 years gone in waste, sadly.

He ain't wrong though....the writing is truly abysmal easily the worst of what I've seen in all of New Vegas quest mods....and there have been a few stinkers at the bottom of the endoresements filter. You aren't into Fallout for some type of epic story? Fine...that's cool but when we have someguy2000 quest mods then suddenly transition to this mod...the difference is night and day really.
The quests are like a teen guy who saw and plagiarized all the outside influences in other games. The story is extremely weak because its illogical, even hypocritical and truly has no "flesh on the bones" to hold onto. Some parts are outright cringe and cheesy.
I think some modders within this project actually had good intentions - but we need to see who were the leaders and how did they allow this mish-mash of the mod to come forward. If this mod had at least a good story ( not excellent, just good ) it would be one of the best Fallout mods ever made, because from its technical standpoint, its great.
But when the whole story is like this ... you cant even fix it. You cant remove parts of it, one would need to remake a whole story and all quests again.
Some would say - "this mod was / is free, dont you dare criticize it, you dont need to play it" - anyone can criticize even the free stuff, its their right on opinion. Its right way to express disatisfaction with something that went on for 7 years and looked like it will truly be one of the best Fallout mods ever ... but it turned out to be a polished poop.

The mod sucks - primarily because of bad quests and nonsensical story. The myriad of "additions" that mod team have put has been another nonsensical part of the mod.
Yeah, even all Bethesda games have easter eggs and even the Wild Wasteland in NV. But thats only a few easter eggs ... not like in case of Frontier where whole storyline becomes one giant joke.
A shame, the driving looks impressive considering the engine its being used on.
Seeing how this page was last updated 3 years ago, I think they just forgot about it here.
At least it won't be any loli holes any more...
