armors Thread - Fallout 3 Reborn: A Realism Mod for Fallout 3

i was thinking could we not have the old combat armors and the dragon armors just ones light and the others tactical or somthing

There still are some old armors (Rivet City Security). V8 is focusing on more realistic weapons and armors, so bringing back the old stuff is unlikely.

is it possilbe in the game to do a bullet proof vest

What do you think the BDU is? It's a standard military-issue bullet-proof vest with magazine pouches and such.

I tried that, but it's really unbalanced and annoying. Besides which, a 7.62mm round would likely penetrate most bullet-proof vests, and nothing will hold up against .50 caliber rounds, making half the weapons in the game able to kill you despite the vest.

most 7.62 rounds can penetrate Kevlar but now dragon scale witch is what the army uses now but i understand what your saying

Yeah it is dragonskin armor in the BDU's, but again, there are balance issues, and nobody wants armor that's destroyed after a few shots.

wait.. you can just increase BDU armour rate and degrees longlivity cant you? i think it would make pretty good armor that way.

Then it would be over-powered beyond belief... Imagine fighting enemies wearing it.

7.62 mm will penetrate any body armor from 0 to 100 meters,above 100m there's a lot of chance that body armor (military not police kevlar) will stop and prevent the bullet from going through. The ricochet bullet can be stopped with any body armor.

Of course, 5.56x45mm is the primary round in Fallout 3 Reborn, and it lacks stopping power or the capability to penetrate dragonskin armor. In fact, I believe Dragonskin can even stop 7.62x39mm.
