Yes, we've decided to renaming. But why such a change? Well, it's time to talk about our modification in more detail...

On April 10, 2021, the modification to restore the story and mechanics of the cancelled game F-stop -

"FSreissue" died, but our team almost immediately had the idea to make one big map from all the ready maps - a museum, where Cave would tell us the story of the game F-Stop or the story of the mod "FSreissue". After a couple of months of experimentation, we realized what direction the mod would take. The mod superficially retells the plot of that very F-Stop and the history of its development, and reads all this information[ERROR OF ACCESS].
There is also a branching off of the original plot of the unreleased F-Stop in the game, but that's another story... ▶

F-stop: Backstory is a story modification with elements of destructibility, cutscenes and portals. In the mod a certain narrator will tell us the story of the cancelled game with the codename "F-stop", but at a certain point something goes wrong.... The mod will consist of 5 maps: the first three are story, 4 - the boss battle, 5 - the credits. Very soon we will please you with new content ^-^


P. S. We are looking for a composer who can write 2-4 tracks in the style of Portal 2! We are desperately short of a composer for our team. Are you interested? Write in the comments! We will definitely contact you!

1. Nothing's remaining from the old storyline now, so you should understand that it's not the modification you were waiting for before, it's completely different. It has new storyline and has not the camera.
2. According to the storyline, somebody who can break the fourth wall controls the main character. Interesting, who is that..? 🤔

We've gotta tell you something important about the mod, because, believe us, a lot of things changed in it...


Firstly
, the concept of the mod is different. Now it's NOT a recreation of That F-Stop . From now, we are making a map pack that can be passed for about 35 mins. There won't be the camera and its mechanics. Then what's the essence of the mod? Not gonna tip our hands completely, we'll just say you'll learn much about the history of F-Stop.


Secondly, the current F-Stop's story happens before That F-Stop's story, so some locations may look different.


Thirdly, some maps will look differently than they looked before. Why? Just read the first item again. :)


We're gonna tell much more about our mod, but not now.

Development Information 2

The entire month we have been polishing levels and redoing the mechanics. All the mechanics were made from scratch and now we are ready to tell you about them!


Demonstration of new mechanics - Mod DB

  • MouseTrap - we have implemented a normal flight with this element, also added portability. MouseT. can also be captured by a test subject's F-Stop camera. We also added a little damage from it, as it hits a test subject upon his/her butt. :)

  • Portable Button is a button that a test subject can take with him/herself. It becomes active when it's placed on a special stand with a copper coil.

  • Proto High Energy Pellet - very early version of the High Energy Pellet from Portal 1, that was originally invented to transport a huge amount of energy wirelessly. Because it was quite unstable and dangerous, it was only used in test chambers,

P. S. The new particle isn't ready yet, so it's WIP.

  • Titanium Carbon Cube for Nuclear Energy Transfer (WB-1708) is a slightly more stable way to transfer a proto-energy ball, though energy can only be stabilized for about thirty seconds. Following destabilization leads to a powerful explosion. Sometimes the cube produces an energy burst that annihilates machinery, lamps, androids, buttons, and so on.

The WB-1708 Cube's Receiver absorbs energy from a fully charged WB-1708 and redistributes it in order to power different Aperture's devices including testing elements.

  • Unstable Clearing Field. At some point of the storyline, Clearing Fields desynchronize and become deadly for living beings.Also, the mechanics of the interfering android has been implemented. now he can not only help you, but also interfere in different ways.
