VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT EDIT BF2 FILES IN BF2/XPACK MODS FOLDIERS OR GAME DOESNT'T WORK ANYMORE. EDIT ONLY CUSTOM MODS LIKE aix, SP64, or others. Better would be make your own mod easily with BF2 editor.
Open: Bf2/ mods/ your mod/ objects_server/ kits/ your kit (FOR EXAMPLE US_SNIPER)
Use notepad or wordpad.
Notes: You can't add more then 9 weapons for one kit. EVERY WEAPON MUST HAVE DIFERENT ITEM INDEX OR YOUR GAME MUST CRASH. For example: Knife- intem indiex 1, pistol- item index 2, assault rifle- item index 3....
all weapons must be different in kit, e.g. in kit not recommended have two ak47...
Number near weapon mean it's item index.
If mod still crash after edit and you don't know reason, run BF2 mod in windowed mode.
Right click on scortcut and you will see something like this:
E:\Battlefield2\BF2.exe +menu 1 +fullscreen 1
set to:
E:\Battlefield2\BF2.exe +menu 1 +fullscreen 0
Then you will get error massage and will know why mod crash.
Set 0 to 1 if you want fullscreen back.

But hear this, if you have a gun set to deploy as a primary, you can't put it as a secondary weapon or any other kind in other kits or it will crash. To change it, if it's a primary weapon it will say ObjectTemplate.itemIndex 3 so if you want it to replace your pistol you must change it to ObjectTemplate.itemIndex 3 but you can't have it be both primary or secondary. You can also make it be in a different slot in your kit by using different numbers.

I cant change what slot the weapons go into :(
you can't use primary weapon (like MG, assault rifle, shotgun) as secondary- there you need more experience with tweaking ;)
You need to change item index, like 2. But you must replace pistol with that weapon.
i dont understand. i went into the specops.con opened with note pad and then replaced the USRIF_M4 with usrif_g36c. but ingame it is just the M4. please help?

I replaced USRIF_M4 with sasrif_mp7 in US_specops.con, but now the map crashes while loading Objects at 3%. I'm using a mac so I can't do the shortcut thing, anyone know how to fix this?

I can't seem to put the "insgr_rpg" into the MEC_AT kit. I put it in all of the handheld folders but it won't recognize it. Any solutions? (Replacing the CHAT_ERYX) EDIT: I've found this to happen to some downloaded weapons, too.
Bro i download unlock weapon addon, and i want to edit weapon on the next weapon slot but (example AT kit) the weapon i change is always like on the original code (chsht_protecta weapon) can you help me plz

Just learned from myself all the time :(
I'm a bit late, but i wonder if i can create a class with a bit of everything. My idea was to use a class to use in Dragon Valley (I took the norm. AT kit) And decided to add an ammo bag, med kit and a wrench. I also added the assault class' rifle (The one with the UGL) but every time i launch the game, it crashes. Maybe it happens bc all the 3 AT kits are the same. Gotta start all over again.
I'll try to make it work.
Update... I mixed different weapons from different teams... Maybe that's why.
