Make sure you have the correct permissions, double check that the files/folders aren't set to read only.

Quite simple. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts, right click the game folder (Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy), then go click "Properties". When a new window with the folder properties pops up, go to the security tab. Then edit permissions for all the groups and users. Select full control for everyone. Then click "Accept" then go out. I am not sure about the name of the menus, since I'm spanish... but that's how it worked for me.

I'm not understanding all of the confusion around installing this mod, I've tried to make it as simple as possible due to the problems faced in previous years with older versions. Here's a step by step guide to help you out. If you get an error message about write permissions try and run both installers as an administrator or make your Jedi Academy GameData folder have read/write permissions.

TO INSTALL:

1) Download EoCIV from our ModDB page

2) Extract the zip file you have downloaded

3) Run the 1st installer, choose the install location as your Jedi Academy GameData folder

4) Wait for it to install, the installer may become unresponsive during this time, please be patient

5) Run the 2nd installer, choose the same install location that you chose for the 1st installer

6) Again, wait for it to install, it may be unresponsive while the install takes place

7) Navigate to your Jedi Academy GameData folder and run the "Evolution of Combat IV.exe" launcher and click on singleplayer or multiplayer, the mod will finish installing.

For anyone else with this issue, I had it to. The way to fix it I dound was to right click on part 1 and part 2 of install and click 'run as administrator'. This installed the full package without any issues.
