Eve of Destruction: Classic is a free modification of the popular Battlefield 1942 game by DICE/EA, based on the Vietnam war. No other military conflict is comparable to those dramatic years of the 20th century. Most rumors spread about the Indochina and Vietnam War are not honest, even though it was the best documented war in history. No other military conflict was ever so controversial, pointing to an unloved fact: our enemy was not the only source of evil, the evil could be found within ourselves. The "Eve Of Destruction" mod is a tribute to the U.S., ARVN and Vietcong/NVA soldiers who fought and died in Vietnam, and also to the Vietnamese people.

"We've got two new maps for the next release:

· Operation Irving


· The Valley


Also there are some maps totally rebuild:
· Dawn at the rice paddies
· Heart of Darkness
· No Escape
· The Rockpile

Last but not least the last BF1942 maps have been converted for EoD:
· Coral Sea
· Iwo Jima
· Market Garden

At the moment we have 27 new maps for EoD Classic 2.0
You can see screenshots of every map at our screenshots section (BF1942/Missions) !

Right now I'm working on the effects.
All vehicles have got new sounds but the explosions still need some improvements"

Cool! I loved Eod back in the day I'm glad to see classic BF1942 mods being updated. Keep up the good work people!

Damn I thought his mod died long ago... I can still remember the old days of 1942 and this mod... As well as remembering Forgotten Hope and DC mod. Well anyway good luck guys.

Yes, the BF42 mod died long ago.
But it has got a revival in 2006 cause of one frustrated BF2 player :)
I HATE connection problems while logging in a game :]
Meanwhile there are some hundred enthusiastic players all around the world. We have friends in USA, Brasil, Europe, Asia.
And the community is growing.
