This mod is intended to give SWAT4 a much needed graphical upgrade on most equipment. Some protective gear such as helmets and gasmasks are added and most weapons have received some aesthetic and audio related changes. Some AI tweaks might be added as well.
This is the Taser X12 shotgun. It's actually a modified Mossberg. Not sure wether I'll use it or make the taser ammo available on regular shotguns.
Just out of curiosity, this (using the name) won't cause any legal issues right?
Been modding for 15 years for different games. Always used the real brand names of gear and equipment. Never had any trouble. As long as it's not a commercial project I'm working on, it doesn't seem to matter much. No guarantees of course. But if any company has a problem with my stuff, I'll just change the name.
That makes sense. I'm just afraid of projects getting stalled, or worse, because of legal issues.
I understand your concerns, looking at what happened to the Take Down mod. However, I know what really happened and it had nothing to do with any gun or gear manufacturer.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. Inexplicably, many mods will use real life brands but I would say it's never a problem and is usually fair use. If nothing else, big manufacturers and companies don't usually lurk around mod websites.
From what I heard, the supposed legal issues that killed the Takedown mod had more to do with the publisher and possible other third parties and not any gun or gear manufacturer.
