The Enduring Freedom project is aiming to bring realistic combat simulation to the GEM 2 engine and is focused on the units involved in the initial coalition combat ops during Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan (Special Forces, 10th Mountain Div, and 101st Airborne). Conventional warfare will be presented as well. Project features and info can be located in the news section.

High poly soldier sculpts in progress. Tanktop, BDU pants, as well as neoprene gloves. The high poly detail will be used for generating polypaint textures as well as normal map on a low poly version of model created using decimation master. The US heads will be attached to create variations in soldier.

This looks great, just keep in mind that not all soldiers have such a heavy build.

Good point. When exported the muscle mass will be altered, offering variation in bodys.

Won't you also need to complete re-do each high poly model for each low poly model? I.e not all models have tank tops, no sleeves e.t.c

Sturm.

So basically what Im doing is assembling a collection of upper/lower body clothing parts. Once the clothing has been sculpted I polypaint, then unwrap em, then decimate them. Export each clothing combo I want, bring it into Max and setup for rigging.

Your sculpting skills are some of the best I've ever seen! But why did you decide the soldier body needs to be redone? It will require a lot of work to get variety while the models you already made were already the best ones I've ever seen in an RTS. Anyway, I'm looking forward to see how it turns out.

If your making a tutorial for the first mission then this would be a good model for them.
