Nice work, but if I were to choose between the original Ion Cannon and this, I'd still prefer the former. If the original Ion Cannon were given slightly better visuals + a delay, that'd be better.
The ion cannon projectile in the mod is pretty much the best possible I'd say, sadly it cannot be used since it disables any ship it hits, which'll become a problem once the Executor is in the mod, so it had to be replaced.
Then dont make it disable any ship? Only shields (or seriously damage them, for executor and other big guys) with some reduce of firepower.
No ion cannon for rebels, is like not having an engine in the car, imo.
Also, just want to ask about same space stations for all factions... They are placeholders, right?
think its possible to have more than one type of ground-space weapon just not on the same planet? if so rebels could start with a unique unbuildable ion cannon on their start planet (Hoth) and the new one cant be built there with the ion cannon in place?
I think it's possible code wise, there is a slot B in the faction files for a surface to space weapon, but it was never used. Not sure if it'd work, but I don't think I'm going to make secondaries.
I like the projectile change a lot and that flash at impact. The rings from the impact look cool but it might look better without them just because of the 3 rings stacking on top of each other like a rainbow.
