I'm very curious to hear what the community thinks of this new Viscount design, share your thoughts in the description!

The ship is far from finished, but on day 1 we made some solid progress, finishing the overall shape of the ship. Everything from engines to details is yet to be done of course.

when i was watching the stream at one point it looked like the dauntless class and at a second point like a wraith cruiser form stargate atlantis
I'm curious to see how you implement the engines, although I'm guessing you plan on putting them under the back "fin" like an F-4 phantom 2.

The new design is sheer genius! Those sleek lines are incredible and I can't wait to see this unit in action.
How would it fare against the Eclipse's superlaser?
Or will the best tactic be to just avoid one on one encounters and fight the Eclipse with swarms of fighters and bombers?
What's the largest ship immune to the superlaser, for that matter?
You always want to avoid a 1v1 with the Eclipse. It wont kill it in a single shot but the Eclipse will easily last long enough to get multiple shots off and kill anything.
And nothing is immune to the Superlaser. Just some ships have enough health to not automatically die. iirc only the other Dreadnoughts can tank a shot from it.
essentially instead of the floor is lava with capitalships (or anything in practice exept a massive hord of strike crafts[which can be defeated esealy by a few or even one artilliery ship since in the moddb version its the supreme star fighter cleaner]) i should do the eclipse is lava

I'm curious though, what inspired you change the design so drastically? It looks very different from the the original designs.
The original was boring. I was paid a lot to create a good looking Viscount. So that's what I'm doing, and I can't with the original design.
