Description
Because one can never have enough super star destroyers, I will be adding the Eclipse to the mod.
A bold move. This ship is almost impossible to balance in EAW in my opinion.
Well you get 50 command points worth of **** to throw at it, one would expect that you can easily muster a legion strong enough to defeat this. The ship will cost 50 command points, so you get just the eclipse and nothing else on the field. On the actual cost side of things, if you ever get enough money to build this ship, you can spend that money on a fleet of other capitals as well, which would be as powerful. Meaning the enemy can do the same, and defeat the ship using that.
And you only get to shoot that superlaser every once in a while, atleast a two minute cooldown.
Sounds fair to me. Though it would be nice if we could at least bring a very small number of escort ships. Maybe two Frigates or a couple of corvettes for some flexibility or to combat small enemy ships. Cheers.
Will this improve the gameplay? Its size makes this ship almost impossible to maneuver around even on the biggest of EAW maps, even if you reduce the space scale.
So you buy this, you shoot the superlaser every 2 minutes, maybe press the attack button once in a while, aaand basically that was your part in the game.
In skirmish, it's a gamebreaker, since it instantly sees and can oneshot the enemy space station.
Btw if the ship is alone on the map, and doesn't have anti-starfighter escort, it's an easy prey. If it has anti-starfighter emplacements, it's easy to make it too OP.

Great points, and if you have any units in skirmish already, you'd have to suicide them all to call it in.
I also wonder how this wil improve the mod. You barely get to see it because of the cost, and if you do, you almost don't have to do anything like Mega said.
Seems like the energy is better spent on other units, though it's your choice ofcourse.
Better spent on other units? Nah man, on this fine, fine day, I will produce a super star destroyer that could be considered game breakingly overpowered. Because that's just how I run my mod.
Hey, let me pitch this idea to you : A hunder kilometers long SSD, no weapons, no fighters, cost about a hundred credits, but the second you win or lose a battle with it present, the map is destroyed. Not talking about the planet, the entire galaxy map is destroyed completely. Would that be breakingly overpowered enough for you ?
I must also point out, this ship is ugly, and too small. Me want the death star as a playable unit, and with moving turret hardpoints. Make. It. Happen.

It's simple to understand if you saw on the mod home page someone is willing to pay Jeroenimo to make an Eclipse and since he's going through the effort it is being put in the mod. Glad he's going to release it for us to play with and frankly I don't mind. I wish someone paid him to do an Executor but people can do whatever they want with their own money and I'm sure this Eclipse will be Epic.

Nuh uh, you've committed to it, now you will make ALL the ships from all SW canons and eras. And make moving hardpoints for each one. And make sure all the ships have at least 20000000 polygons on each cannon.
That's going to cost you a lot of cash I fear, but hey, you pay, I'll model.

If we do see a Assertor or Bellator SSD, will be it able to be constructed only at kuat or will there be other systems
Impressive! but dare I ask if you plan to add anything for the rebels I feel like they are lacking capital ships. I know the nebula star destroyer is good but.. It would be great if they got more mon cals as well. Keep up the good work
