Do we want a V0.99 with all completed content, or wait for a full V1.00? image - Empire At War Remake: Galactic Civil War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
This mod catapults Empire at War into 2077. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
Basically me asking the community here if we'd like a new update with all the content that's done so far, minus the content that's NOT done.
There's quite a bit of half-done or flat-out unfinished content. There's also a lot of done content. The Version 0.99 would be a full-scale release with all the content that's done. (and probably the remnants of all the content that is not done)
I orginally planned to do this like RaW, where there's just a single large release from now on, with all the features. But since that is still a long time off, I figured I'd ask here if people want a semi-completed version in the meantime. Still undecided on whether or not to release that with the 1K textures or 2K textures, since the 1K textures have significantly reduced crashes for the people that used to have them. We'll see.
So comment below, do you want to see a less-than-optimal version, or just wait for the full thing (which is still probably atleast 6 months away)?
I can wait, but I also wouldn't complain about an 0.99 release.
I wouldn´t mind a release, as a sneak peek of what is coming, i fear the complaints of the people expecting the finished thing XD
Also i think having the 1k textures as a default is a good thing, put the 2k textures as an optional download for those with higher end rigs, to avoid even more issues
I’m ok with either. But if I had to choose, I would rather have a completed product over a half product with later content. So, I’m for waiting! :) Keep up the great work as always!

I'm fine with either or, tbh. That said, you're asking that we the community choose. With that in mind I'd rather a polished, play tested 1.0 with all content finished and ready to go.
On another note though, releasing a 0.99 beta version to the wider community might allow for a far better outcome, come 1.0's release. Widening the bug hunting net is never a bad thing afterall.
I would just wait until V1.00. It would be a more awesome release to look forward to that way if we didn't have V0.99 beforehand.
The current version is a well polished one so i wouldn't mind to wait for the full glorious v1.0. Though a kind of beta version of it could be useful as isa0005 stated.
I rather prefer rare releases with less bugs and more features.
I think giving everybody a preview of what's to come, is a good idea, but there'll probably be a ton of complaints about the unfinished content, bugs etc.
I am all for a release with unfinished content. If people don’t like the bugs they can keep to the older releases.
It would keep people satisfied by giving them new content to use while you finish the executor and eclipse, since the next release is going to be "atleast 6 months away".
Nah man i'll wit unfinished products wil lessen the hype of final releases,plus i want to have everything new at once

I've waited a long time for this release, I can wait a little longer. However, a 0.99 would also be nice.

I say release the update. Those who want to try out the "unfinished" version can go ahead and do it, albeit, at their own risk. Those who want to wait for version 1.0 can skip the update all together. The way I see it, you can satisfy both parties.
Unless 1.0 will release within the month, I'd prefer to have access to a 0.99. the more community feedback, the better for the next release, right?

If you say the full release is still 6 MONTHS away i definitely want the V0.99 version. Also i would say 1k as default and 2k as a second download.

An earlier 0.99 version would probably allow the full 1.0 release to be much better overall, because you could gain valuable feedback prior to releasing it.

There really isn't a downside to releasing a .99, would make the 6 months till 1.0 go faster and we'd all have some new stuff to screw around with.
I will wait. I rather have it polished and have you be happy with it. I want that 1.0 version when you feel it is ready.
