Greetings, companions of Edain!

With Christmas right around the corner, we'd like to take the opportunity to talk about Eastereggs - hold up.
With Christmas right around the corner, we'd like to take the opportunity to talk about Elves! Earlier in the year, we already explained how to find Edain's hidden mission by showing the example of a Mordor mission.
Next up are several Elven missions that you can already play on the current patch. Let's start with a scenario that was added in 4.5.4:

Mission 1: The Attack on the Golden Wood

Celeborn awaits your help!

Take control of the Woodelves and experience the orcs invade Lothlórien, shortly after Haldir and his two brothers discovered the armies of evil.
To start this mission you have to play as Lorien on the map 'Woods of Lorien'. Place yourself at the left location, without a second player (neither AI nor human).
If you're mostly looking to experience the story, deactivate Ringheroes and the mission will be very easy do complete. Activating Ringheroes on the other hand will make it a bit more challenging.

Your settings need to look like this.
Don't forget to adjust the difficulty by either deactivating Ringheroes (easy)
or activating them (medium)

Have fun playing and enjoy the advent season!
Your Edainteam

Yuk, Elves. Nice try though, but I prefer my hair black and my skin green.

As a goblin lover (Kill all the elves!) I can just say:

Totally understandable. Have a great day.

Its still pretty hard even without ringheroes. I'll survive first and second attack on settlements with Celeborn and twins but third and fourth are problem. Any ideas?

Do you always bring the neutral elves back into the forest after all of them gathered completely? The more elves get to safety, the more reinforcement you achieve. Normally I do the right settlement at the beginning, get the units from this settelement, then go to the bottom left (and destroy the camp on the ford on the way). You should have pikes by now and with those you can defend the two settlements at the right (either without going back or by going back in between). Afterwards you should have a lot of troups and the camp at the top in the middle should be no problem.
Afterwards your strategy depends on how many elves got away - if you got knights (nearly all elves survived), then you can survive most of the next chapter by running over the units, just be sure that you defend all the buildings. Sometimes some units try to sneak around your units.
Also be sure that you use your spells!

But I also saw some people use different orders. Mostly it seems quite strong to let your heroes tank as long as possible, while your archers and other units deal damage.
If you want to use some tricks, then you could also let the enemies focus your hero and then just run circles with the hero. That way the enemies will deal nearly no damage, while your archers can kill most of them without any problems. :D (But you can win without those tricks)

hah funny, I always made it without reinforcements untill the fourth settlement :D ... Last time I survived with three heroes, but had problem with time. I had no idea that I have to get people away (I thought that they are gathering around Celeborn only).
Thx!

Oh wow. Getting through all the different settlements without reinforcements is pretty impressive! :D
There should be some kind of note at the beginning that you have to bring them away, probably it was is not clear enough.^^

Yeah, Ive made it finally, with reinforcements. Ive probably missed the notes but my mistake I wanted to win on my own. Actually when you use battle tactics it is possible to nearly make it, but you have to always wait for Celeborn to recover, so logically I had problem with time at the end. And funny thing is that I had problem with the time even with the reinforcements :D ... but of course, it was much more easier than without them. But overall I would recommend for the next version add at least 5 additional minutes for normal players.

And just hoping that terrible Half-Troll Marauders from vanilla wont be in the next version. This mission reminded me how awfully do not fit into the Middle-earth :D ...

Hi! First of all: THANK YOU for the years of amazing work!
Now to my questions (having recently played the hidden easter egg mission with Mordor and the Haradrim):

1. Will you bring back the Haradrim as a Mordor sub-faction for outpost building plots? They've got amazing units and it is a shame one can't play them anymore with Mordor.
2. Also side topic: Will it ever possible to recruit Tauriel reguarly through the Mirkwook outpost (though not in the books and only in the movies, what a cool female caracter, am I right?) It's a pity one can't play her reguarly either.

Many thanks and may the White Hand prevail! (muahahah)
Will

1. No.
2. Regularly? No. We're quite happy with her being available in the spellbook. You can, however, recruit her on the map Mirkwood as a normal hero.

1. Too bad for the great Haradrim. Any particular reason for that strong no? Maybe as a feature list for the far future? Hope dies last ;)
