Perfectly in line with the renowned Númenórean mastery of craftsmanship and tactical warfare. A very valuable addition ;)

Edit too late:
Wait! But how it works ? If shields don't take damage dealing to units behind them anyone can cheat in simple way when defending - to protect your troops on walls you just buy shield, place it under walls in your base and turn back to your units - they are protected while enemy can't destroy shield before entering to base. I'm hope that you think about it ;)

I would imagine it would just be a leadership that applies to nearby siege units, and not infantry, or is reduced against them.

It's an interesting idea, for sure - but it was already done by Rhovanion Alliance 10 years ago. :P They had Orc Shieldbearers that did the same thing.

Before I get torn a new bumhole, I'm not saying they *stole* the idea or whatever (I doubt anyone but ex-Rhovanion Alliance team members remember it now), just saying that after 12 years of modding these games, the likelihood of people having the same ideas becomes greater.

I actually remember the shieldbearers :) I used to visit Rhovanion Alliance site every day, looking at all the Main factions and their mini factions. I read the history of the factions, clicked on every unit and looked at their powers. I remember that when I read about them canceling their project I was very sad... So long time ago ;)

Why not allow units to combine with this wall? Like mordor siege tower and orcs in BFME1? It would be visually better + less hard to operate and micro.

Combining units with siege engines is not possible.

Sadly it's not possible to combine troops with machines.

Concept is really good and all, but defensive play has already been nerfed to the ground in this mod and now a fodder infantry recieve even more protection? R.I.P. turtling.

Does Gondor really need this? I mean a faction like Mordor Rohan or even Lorien need this, I'm not sure about Gondor though. It seems a bit out of place for them. Does Gondor really need to get closer to the castle with their Archers? I mean they can stall the game until they get some trebuckets and then start pushing. I would like to see something like this on Rohan, or produced by the Men of Dale, or Lake-town but I'm not quite sure about Gondor, speaking of the Good factions being more defensive of course.

The work though is amazing and I really love how you guys keep getting more and more innovative! :D

Description

Gondor has now besides the catapults and rams another siege weapon: The Siege Shield.
The Siege Shield is an economical siege unit which provides passive immunity against arrow and spear damage. This makes it possible to get close to the enemy fortress, without being stopped by arrow fire.
