Dust and Wind is a huge overhaul mod set in the Roman Classical Age, with a focus on scripted campaign, improved unit visual style and more difficult gameplay. The mod has hundreds of new units, including roman named legions, various types of local hoplites and tons of regional auxiliaries all over the map. The campaign is set on a Mundus Magnus map, and offers a vast area to conquer, from Britain to India. There are two modes to play the mod, historically scripted and a sandbox (minimally scripted). The focus of historically scripted mode is to force AI Rome to conquer historically, and a unique feature of this mod is that when playing a non-roman faction you will see that Rome truly acts very close to history, expanding in areas where real Rome had interest in a given time, in order where such events occured in history. Mode is oriented for tough historical campaign where you could either follow the steps of Rome, facing civil wars and Rome's historical wars, or as a non-roman culture, challenge aggressive and almost unstoppable roman faction which slowly takes over the world. Script includes garrison scripting for major cities (historical capitals) and also affects diplomatic relations between AI factions, so some factions can be alive for much longer period of time to reflect their historical lifespan. Also in the mod you'll encounter new roman reforms and named Legions. Roman faction is recommended, as it is more natural and historically oriented to play as Rome. Rome is the only faction which has scripted wars, especially civil wars.


Much more historicaly oriented is Roman campaign. It have historicaly conquering, wars and especially civil wars.

4) Socii War
5) Mithridatic Wars
6) Sertorius Mutiny in Spain
7) Gallic Wars
8) Caesar Civil Wars
9) Battle at Philippi
10) Antonius Mutiny

Please note that diplomatic relations scripting is only truly relevant for difficulty of the campaign set on Medium. On higher difficulties, there's a scripted bias towards player which is hardcoded in the engine, so harder difficulty campaign breaks the way the mod was designed to be played. For battles, you can set any difficulty you want.

I love this mod. Only thing is I do not have access to post-marian reforms infantry or cavalry, only the archers are available. Is there any way I can fix this?

always activate script after ever reload. Script activates pressing on city and "show me how".
