An action-packed gameplay mod that puts you in the boots of the political incorrect but lovable asskicking macho-man Duke Nukem. Crammed full of 80's/90's action movie throwbacks and pop culture references. Featuring an impresive arsenal of super deadly, sneaky and devastating weapons and a colourful and humorous collection of powerups and pickups. Full of witty one-liners from Duke himself and plenty of blood, guts and gore. Come get some!
Outdated sourceport, no sound.
Excellent twist on Doom and adds more fun and action to an already amazing game.
This is a mod that clearly had work put into it to actually make me feel as if duke nukem traded spots with doom guy.
Cant see "Devastators". Cant see "quick pipebomb" button. I like more the classic sound and design of shotgun. Not sure about that energy cannon. But overall mod is pretty good.
Simply incredible and nothing but tremendous service to both Duke and Doom.
It's been so long since I played a Doom mod that supplemented the Doom formula to 11 without also becoming absolutely ridiculous and grating.
While we have had other Duke mods in the past, such as simple sprite replacements up to Samsara, I feel that this is the first time I've actually felt like I was playing as Duke himself. With all the extra DUKENESS this adds, it gives me many great memories of the Duke Plus mod for 3D. The amount of effort that went into this really shows.
While you could just play this the same old way you're used to playing Doom....throw a couple of rockets at a revenant, chaingun down some former humans....it's when you are swarmed by all variations of enemies that you are rewarded for achieving a sort of rhythm and style to your killing. In bigger battles I rarely see myself using less than 2 weapons, usually shuffling through my entire arsenal in a nonstop orchestra of blood and guts. Being off by a beat may end in your demise, but that is the beauty of how well this formula works. And after every battle, the spoils of what you wrought are always enough to kick your *** back into gear for the next fight just to do it all over again.
This is retro FPS at its finest. A perfect blend of speed, versatility, and focus.
Go load up your favorite maps and blow through them in a way that feels refreshingly new, yet comfortingly familiar.
Blow it out your ***.
This is A pretty good mod and here is a few of the reasons on why.
This mod changes a few things in the game such as first person view sprites, Weapons from Duke Nukem 3D and some from Duke Nukem 64, and some extra ammo types based off of Duke Nukem 64. although I am not sure where the rail gun is supposed to be from.
You have Duke Nukems Voice lines that change depending on the weapon you kill demons with or if Duke gets hurt. It is pretty much Duke Nukems personality. And He is who he is a Action hero with a bad mouth but I like him because of that. Also how he reacts in this mod is done pretty good and alike to his other games in his series to how he acts.
Although I feel he may talk a little to much. compared to how he normally is.
This mod really changes the Feeling of the game a lot and in a good way. While this seems pretty simple. It really is some thing big that makes the game very enjoyable in a different but good and creative way.
Also you can Play with this mod on the Ultimate Doom also and it comes in very good.
Sadly it does not work in Hexen though. But I kind of expected that.
This mod successfully translates Duke Nukem into Doom, melding both game’s styles into something fresh. A lot of cool adapted and custom art for the weapons, I prefer the new art over just copying everything from Duke3D. The required classics (Pipe Bombs, Shrink Ray, Freezethrower, etc) are all included and working. I prefer the gloved hands, helps to further differentiate this mod from Duke3D. The best feature is the one liners, they are context specific and plentiful. Duke rarely repeats himself but always has something to say.
Finally, the combat in this mod is how I wish Duke Nukem Forever played like. Old school, somewhat different from Duke3D, but still unquestionably Duke Nukem.
Absolutely loving this mod! Now all we need to do is find a way to combine it with Brutal Doom, travel back in time, and market it to 3D Realms and id Software as a collab, and rake in millions!.
