An entirely new episode modeled in the base style theme, designed as a homage of sorts to the original Knee Deep In The Dead episode of DOOM. This mod tries to replicate the spirit and theme of the original shareware episode - no cacodemons, lost souls, no plasma gun (except multiplayer!) or BFG for that matter. It does however, have hidden berserk packs, primarily for Brutal DOOM usage.

I'm curious, have you thought of uploading this to the idgames archive? It might be appropriate to do that.

Seems intriguing, always loved E1 of DOOM. Be checking this out when I'm at home.

Consider adding a little bit more health in the levels. Not a heap of it but a couple of items in each level beyond E1M1, considering I play on UV and generally was under 50% a good amount of the time.

Date of Beta testing: 5/17/2016 and 5/19/2016
Engine used: GzDOOM
Difficulty played: "Hurt me Plenty"

This mod is really well put together. It has challenging levels and was, overall, very fun to play. Ammo was plentiful, but still rare enough that you'd run out of it in combat and the key fetching was done pretty well. The enemy placement on "Hurt me Plenty" is also done very well, I would suggest leaving it as is on that difficulty. The levels felt a lot like the levels John Romero designed for the original game. Lighting could be better though, it just doesn't feel authentic to me for some reason. "Hurt me Plenty" feels very well done as a difficulty.

One last thing, upon completing the episode, is it supposed to play the 'Knee Deep in the Dead' text screen?

Hi, yes it is supposed to play that, as it is a vanilla WAD, and the end text cannot be modified without resorting to hacks. In hindsight the lighting needed a bit more variance in my opinion.

Do you plan to redo the other Episodes as well?

It can if using DeHacked, you can always have a patch to replace the vanilla ending text and graphic lumps for prBoom users, MAPINFO for the level names and episode text. PS this is Glaice on Doomworld.

I initially toyed with the idea of using DeHacked, but ultimately decided against it.
