The Doom: Source project is a mod being created for the Source Engine (HL2) which aims to recreate the atmosphere of the original Doom game. Features will include but are not limited to: New enemy models New weapons New animations New HUD setup New title screen New sounds/music New maps (Including a few heavily based on the original Doom) Multiplayer maps
Finally got it to compile, this is mostly a test dummy to make sure I have the process down properly before I move onto more advanced things. Please Note, the texture is not final! Not even close actually... it needs a lot more detailing and weathering to make it look proper.

Great model, truely remaking doom in a non-idiotic looking graphics is going to be a challenge as it has never been done in its entirety before, although this is just a medkit, its a first step in something we all hope will be done in the near future.
Agreed, it's a pain. The hardest question is, how far does one go? If it gets too high detailed for textures it loses its roots it seems. If it stays too low-graphic, than it just looks terrible. That happy medium is going to be the hardest part to get down :P

I don't think they need any help. It the box in DooM is all white with a red cross and gray straps.
its a good model i just hope when you move on to the real version you'll optimize a little more and leave a lot more detail to the texture mapping rather then actual details.
