May 24, 2177 A.D. You are on a transport vessel heading towards Mars. You have been in the Marines for 15 years, and served the planet loyally. You were just promoted and your first mission was a distress call from Mars. Every one of your friends has gone to Mars, and said the distress calls were basically routine. By that, you thought there was nothing to worry about. The ship entered the atmosphere and then landed at one of the ports. A sandstorm was just picking up, so you were losing visibility as you walked into the giant facility. Inside was like any building on Earth. You dropped your luggage off and followed your group. They all went into the General's office, the man who was controlling the military activity on Mars. He gave you the low-down of what they needed to do. An accident had happened in one of the lower engineering platforms. It wasn't anything serious, but it was causing repercussions that cut half of the building's output. You had to go to a remote part...

Report RSS DOOM Legions of Hell in SDL!!!!

Quite a few years after its initial realize, with bugs, and all sorts of things. I have finally had the time and motivation to port it to SDL, Windows :D

I released this game when I was fairly new to programming, and game modding. It currently only runs in DOS and has many memory issues, and other spontaneous crashes that cause troubles.

I have been working on it for a few weeks, redoing sprites, porting the code, and cleaning up maps in hopes to re-release it at the end of summer.

I am terrible at estimating, because I don't know how busy my summer will be. I hope to get it all done quickly yet, good!

So far the port has gone quite well, the engine is almost finished. I have most of the major stuff done, just a few small odds and ends. I am currently working on sprite touch ups (resizing, and the like). Maps will be soon, and I also hope to dig deep in my code hard drives to find some of the map editing files so I could maybe add another episode onto it.

I hope this will give me the motivation to finish his sequel (Legions Revisited) which has been sitting since I began college. (Nigh on 3 years ago)

Stay tuned, I will try to keep updating on the progress of the SDL port.
