Much as it was with the advent of the atomic age, the mapping of the genome has once again laid the power of God in the hands of his most imperfect creation. Who we are, what we are, the human soul is laid bare. And once again, only a few will stand to save us. And the few will become one. So it begins as it always has. We reach too far, confident in our shortsighted arrogance that we have it under control, so certain of the outcome. It has been done before...we've survived before. But this isn't that story. This is something else... This is how the story ends. D i r e

Team Dire has been working hard on the mod and is looking forward to releasing over 10 items of new media to the public. That update will happen in the next couple of days but for right now the team is proud to show the public a great work of art that McKiller has created to represent the game play that the Survival Mode Demo will provide.

Team Dire is also releasing a demo of it's musical score for the Survival Mode Demo on the website's forum. Only Registered forum members can download this file and the file will only be available from November 18th to November 20th. Come join the forums, give a little mod input and be apart of the selected group of people that will get to download this song. This song is only the first of many forum exclusive updates we will be releasing. As well as forum exclusive updates, valued forum members (that post comments and are active on the forums) will also be first to be considered for exclusive beta testing with Team Dire before the Demo release.

Sign up for the forums at Dire.bhivedesign.com to be apart of these events.

I suppose that would be true if I did it right off the bat. We still have 10+ media items that are going to be released in the next couple of days and probably even more very shortly after that. The only thing I keep forum exclusive (until 3-5 days later when everyone can see it) is some of the larger things like music, model videos, map videos, etc, that the people on the forum actually commented on and helped form. It would be their right to see it first anyhow.

There is already plenty to look at to gain interest, and anything exclusive doesnt stay exclusive for over a week so I highly doubt this is a crippling move on my part.

Right now the ratio is, out of 30 in the image gallery, the new released picture by McKiller, and the...13 or so media pics that are soon to be released, I am keeping approximately 1/44 media releases forum exclusive.

May be hard, but I think people can live with those odds without losing interest big time..especially when it is released about 3-5 days later anyway.

Though it can be viewed that this could be a way to get more people to the forums, I dont view it like that. The content that is released on the forums exclusively will be released to the public a week later. This is merely a way to award those people who take time out of their lives to comment and participate with the development of our mod and show them that we appreciate them. The public will still see it, just a little later than the forum members.

It is good that you don't believe in ploys to populate the forum, and I don't see a point in it either. Why have 50 members on a forum when only 6 are active? The thing I do believe in is to reward people that put an effort into Dire and it's development. If you notice when I tell people to join, I also tell them to post and give comments. I rather have 6 active members than 100 silent ones.

Hope that clears that up.

Nice concept art
and you mod seems to have a good direction now
however making only "registered" members download your file will restrict the amount of public veiwing
i dont agree with these types of media downloads
due to the fact its designed to get more members on the forums
and many ppl cant be botherd doing that.

artwork looks good. however you want to release media is fine by me.

reino, you seem to accuse a lot of people of a lack of professionalism. Unless you work in the video game industry and can judge what does and doesn't conform to professional standards, give the word a rest.
