Sorry but I think you need to practice hammer more, but its always good to see new modders pop up. I suggest making a few maps that you work on and release them as a mappack instead of a mod, that way you can gain experience and learn new things while still being able to show people what you made. I made the same mistake with my first mod (Got too ambitious while lacking the skills to make it good)

Good luck and keep practicing!

As much as I love seeing people get into modding. You've fallen into the "I want to make a mod" phase. It's where you JUST recently learned how to use a tool, most commonly a map editor, and now you're blinding yourself with the glory of trying to release a mod.

I'll be straight with you. The attitude you have now about making a mod will not get you anywhere in finishing one. First off, you're already announcing your mod with little to no work done. Second, you're asking for a team that most likely will surpass your skill level, meaning that they'd be doing more work than you. Third, you look like you just learned how to use hammer editor, you need to actually practice if you truly are serious about making a mod.

I really don't mean to kill the dream for you, but the quicker you get over the "I want to make a mod" phase the better off you will be. In the end though if you really think you will commit to completing your mod, at the very least get 20% of it done on your own.

I suggest you come up with some sort of plot and starting point for the mod. That could give you ideas about how the levels should look. Are they specifically built perfect closed-off test chambers like in Portal or is the test taking place in an old factory or abandoned residential area, why not even outdoors or space or underwater rooms?

You should start with rectangular objects first. Round objects are hard to position and to jump on. It might not be hard for you or me, but it's hard for most people.

You need to be smart to get through the levels, but you have to be a genius to design the levels. Are you good enough? Even in this tiny level you made there is a chance for the player to get stuck if he puts the barrel in the wrong place. If the player throws the barrel on the upmost ledge and behind the glass there is no way to go on. It might be obvious to everyone in this case because the level is small, but if the level was more complex and you were like half-way through it, you could make a mistake that makes it impossible to beat the level and not know it. That is why you need to make it clear to the player from the start that he can not screw things so bad that he can't beat the level anymore. If you want to include such element then you must make sure that it results in game over and auto-loading most recent save point.

You should think about the concept and make more sophisticated map before coming forward with the mod more. You need some good stuff to get the players interested, but you need some even better stuff to recruit people to work for you for free.

Mother of God... Dude, from the looks of it you need 2 years more of mapping practice to even start on a mod. Plus you HAVEN'T given anybody any reason to want to join this mod. You don't have a story summurization, no good images, no good game play, nothing. I doubt any one will want to join when this is all you have to offer. But if you are serious about modding, then you need a lot more practice and then try again when you have more experience. Sorry to sound harsh, just go practice.
