Hi all, Wow,just dont want to apologize again haha I doubt there will be anymore map issues, me and some friends have covered as much as we could through act1-5, with some great players who had some issues and reporting them with screenshots has been great. I think it has been nailed, all maps bug fixed :) Now lets have fun!

Hey Bikuri,

So sorry man, I will look at that for the next update :)

All the map changes etc has been keeping me so busy to make sure all work and there are no bugs, testing etc

I think that content for now is enough, there are 5x more unique than vanilla, 2x more runewords, so many great cube recipe and upgrades :)

So for next patch I will focus on polishing some small things, like gameplay balance with monsters, skills, shops selling gems/skulls etc :)

There is always a fine line between balance and broken, dont want to break things, like it is ok for shops to sell certain things but it must also not become the easiest way to get these items, because otherwise there is no reason for players to pickup item anymore etc

Let me ask something, are you having problem with skulls dropping? Maybe drop for skulls not enough?

Because I have been thinking to make certain higher difficulty mobs to also have added loot tables to make them worth killing more, like example, maybe skeletons should have a very small chance to drop skulls yes, make sense that a skeleton can drop skulls (bones) haha

Well let me know what you think in general, because as i said i will be working on lots of balance/fixes changes now, not so much content.

skull does seems to have lower drop rate than others, at least for me reaching lv 36. hmm... how bout provide lower grade only? with higher pricing(1k for chipped). that way, play are controlled.

OH and there are some bugs with maps, encountered at andariel's place. The minimap showing door(yellow) but it was an dead end, since the place was enlarged and the door moved to top side, which the map doesn't show.

Necromancer scythe mastery. At the tooltips it says wield as scythe, its a melee weapon, but the talent increase range damage as well(?) doesnt make sense and its broken since pet + strong range

Hi Bikuri,

I have added the suggestions for purchasing skulls to the list, although I am considering other ways for them to be more available, maybe through certain mobs that can drop them more often :) still working through the ideas.

About the maps, i only realized afterwards that the static maps will i will need to create new map images since the static maps dont work the same as maze maps, maze maps read the actual map where it seems that static maps read a image that was produced from a screenshot, i was reading about it yesterday so I will look at adding one for each of the new static map i changed, like for some of the town like act2, good example is act1 waypoint update dynamically where act2 doesnt because the town is static :)

Just out of interest, how did you find the new layout for Andariels lair? Every boss has a small change and some big changes to their boss dungeons :), wait till you get to Baal... you will be like "WHAT THE HELL" haha

I will add about scythe mastery now to the update notes, need to check it, scythe mastery should only affect melee weapons and not all weapons like ranged and melee..

As i mentioned going forward i dont think too much content is needed to be added, now I can focus on more balance changes and making the game more smooth in terms of play, drops, recipes etc

Although there are already so many recipes etc

I am going to split the PDF into two PDF`s, 1 for the Patch Notes and the other one for things like Runewords etc

I am also working on a website where all the information to changes, pathces etc will be to make it all in one place and easy to find..

Will even start building a item chart there, so people can see what is available, but i might need help from people to give screenshots on some items they find because it is impossible for me to make a screenshot of every single items, that would take me a year to do haha there are just too many and no way to make them each drop for a screenshot because you can only that 1 at a time haha

So I have added all your suggestions and feedback to the notes

Hey Tekkgandy,

No problem my friend, if you see any other strange bug/issue with maps etc please drop me a line, because i was kinda noob when i started with the maps, so there might be some mistakes here in there, because i changed over 500 map files :)

I have learnt alot while doing that, so atleast i know the basics of map design and fixes pretty well, also if you do find something, always screenshot it which makes it easier for me to see where/which map it might be, otherwise it is hard to find the problem because so many file :)

Question, what class are you playing?

yeah np i knowe how it gose with modding D2 :)

im playing a summon necro because of MF and currently in the end of act 3 (players 8) and i can see that the super uniques (the green colore mobs) will be a pain at least in late nightmare or in hell :D
but we will see it´s all about DA LOOTS :D

I finished Hell with my Barb, it took me 2-3 weeks L)

Playing a Necro myself at the moment, the thing with the Necro it is just about stacking +skill and eventually whatever build i am gonna go, i want to try transmute unique jewels till i can get the +advanced skill jewels and stack them in my gear to pump 1-2 of my main skills as high as i can, you know focus build my main skills and the rest of the skilsl i choose will be support to that, although i actually wanna try a Bone Necro with Decrepifying presence, should be good i think, Bonespear and Decrepufyng presence for aoe damage and the Bonespirit to focus down silly mobs like the rezzing shaman etc

But ye will see how that goes haha

My Necro is in Hell act 3 atm

Also I think a very overlooked skill by players is corpse explosion, it is a pretty crazy skills for pushing Aoe to break enemies HP then finish them off with whatever else build.. Like explosion is good with any build i rate...

yes CE can be VERY good especially on /Players 8 because of higher HP pool :D
but high phys res mobs laugh at you :D
it´s definatly a good trash clear skill but im not using it because i play a lazy "loot and curse only" summoner :D

I am having an issue with the enlarged cube.

When I move the cursor out of the slots and towards the transmute button the game crashes.

Hi Nosi,

That is weird, what are you trying to transmute..

What i can recommend is this, Run the Diablo 2 Vidtest and select Direct Draw, then start the game a again, place the cube in your stash and open it from there, if it is already in your stash, maybe drop the cube and pick it up again, because i have done at least 50+ transmute in the past 2 days some for testing some playing norma, also was playing with some friends yesterday and we did plenty transmute and no crashes happened, it sounds more like it is a desync on your side, it can happen.

Also, something i had to do when i first introduced the larger inventory was to change my resolution to the lower setting and then back for the graphics to sync..

Keep in mind D2 uses sprites and because the way the graphics work it is almost like they are physical objects in a virtual world, way different than 3d style graphics

Let me know when you have tried those suggestions

I have run a few prior builds and had 0 issues, this is not a system issue.

All I need to do to crash D2 is to open the cube, mouse into the boxes and then move below them. It crashes 100% of the time.

I do know that stash issues can cause this same crash, I am going to try a few things here and see if I can get rid of the problem.

I can reliably fix and recreate the problem now.

To fix the problem I do the following:

1. Empty and move the cube to the shared stash.
2. Create a new character and move his stuff into the cube while inside the shared stash.
3. Reload my primary character and move the cube back to my inventory.
4. Save and exit.

At this point the cube works as expected.

If I delete the temporary character the crash bug will return. Anytime I move the cursor over the line at the bottom of the cube inventory sports the game crashes.

Wonder if it has something to do with Plugy shared stash then..

Like the cube should never be locked to a character, mhh will do some research and see if anyone has ever had that type of issue before etc

I must be honest i have never had those types of issues and i move stuff around all the time, although my cube i keep in my shared stash so all my character have access to the one cube, and also i do not store any items on my characters stash tabs, all items/gems etc i put in the shared stash not personal :)

And i backup my save folder after every session, since it is known that PlugY can become corrupt and you lose everything, been using plugy for years and happend before where i lost everything..

But anyway now i started everything over with this mod/patch, since all the items etc are different levels etc, also it is never advised to bring things to the mod from older saves/character that were not created using this mod, since so many changes have been made and it is always possbible that issues could arise...

And only characters created with the patch will gain the benefit of increase life per level if you leveled from one, imported characters will always have lower life pools..

But ye, if i find anything on the cube i will message you..

How are you finding the map changes by the way?

I think I can reproduce this bug at will now, try this.

1. Add a few things to the expanded cube.
2. Save and exit.
3. Reload the save and open the cube.
4. Mouse around the line between the inventory squares and transmute button.

I have been able to reproduce this pretty easily now.

The fix still works but I start getting crashes again if I add stuff to the cube and save. If this is a common problem people will run into it when they add boss drops to the cube and then save and exit to get back to town quickly.

As far as backups go, I always backup :)

yeah it is a plugy problem because u dont need to install plugy 11 the D2se launcher comes with plugy version 9 ;)
the only thing people have to do with ur mod is to drop the contend from the plugy folder inside the MODS folder from your mod rar to the mod folder itself and replace. after that drop the mod in the mods folder in the diablo 2 dir.

i did the same thing and everything works fine

How do you get ver 1.13 C or D ... When installing I can only get 1.14 and not seeing a way to go backwards...

Not able to get the MOD to work and this is the only step I do not have correct.

Hi there,

Ok depends, do you want to play it on 1.13 with PlugY features or if you dont care much for the Plugy stash etc you can play it on 1.14..

But to answer your question, if you want to play on 1.13 with PlugY you will need to download and install a older version of Diablo and then run a downloaded 1.13 patch....

Because Blizzard now only provide 1.14 and they changed the file structure for 1.14 to try prevent botting on Bnet

The hardest part will be a CD key since the Bnet key you have is the new key which wont work with older version of Diablo.. again Blizzards little tic-tac of wisdom to screw players over..

So unless you have an original old Diablo 2 copy, you will probably need to find older keys online..

Old keys were 16 digits and the new keys from bnet are 21 or sumtin..

The other option is to play on 1.14 without Plugy, it is quite easy to do that..

Download the Zip, copy the \data folder into your Diablo II directory and then create a shortcut on your desktop, right click it and add the following at the end of the line -direct -bin so it looks like this "C:\Games\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -direct -bin

This way when you run the game from the Shortcut, it will not run using the Diablo 2 patch MPQ but will run the information from the data folder, the mod .bin files and walla you can play...

You just wont have the Plugy Stash...

I like what you are doing with expanded rewards for exploring (3 chests instead of 1 at the end of cave areas) but maybe you could take it further by adding reagents for the cube that can only be found in those chests.

One of my complaints about D2 was always just how much of he game you could ignore without consequence. I like the idea of things that cannot be done without exploration.

Ye I am still thinking of ways to make exploring the world much more worth it, it is part of the next project/update, to find ways to make the most unused areas worth exploring hehe

Like let me ask, when was the last time you did any of the Crypts in Kurast, there are 2 Crypts on the side when you and the Travincal on the left and right and i will be honest, i never been in them expect maybe the first few times i played diablo all those years ago haha

Although even now I have added some extra rewardsd and in them and some of them have a chance to spawn Super Elite Unqiues mobs...

There are 6 of those Crypts in Act3, the one we all go to is the Ruined Temple I think just for the book for the stats :) With Battlemaid Sabrina

Although the others now are also worth exploring

But even if you have some suggestions to add dont be shy, I always take people ideas/suggestions seriously and add them to a list and sometimes I might change them a little or even sometimes combine 1-2 suggestions into 1 etc

Mixing suggestions is great because you get more of what everyone wants to experience in the game

I like the idea of cubing in general and putting special reagents as potential drops in optional areas will encourage exploration.

Is there a "white wash" recipe yet (turns equipment into a base white item)? The only thing I am having any issue with currently is finding good white equipment. It would be cool if I could take a piece of equipment and no matter how it is modified convert it back to white. You could put the key ingredient to this recipe as a random drop from 'end of optional areas' chests.

I know this suggestion is a pain to code but I had an idea to address one of my other long standing complaints about runewords. If you are using an effect type runeword the equipment you put it in does not really matter. It would be cool if runeword buffs actually got better the higher level the equipment was. For example putting a 4 rune runeword into a superior sacred armor would enhance the runeword buffs.

Related to the above idea I would change ethereal equipment into a level far above superior both in terms of base buffs and buffs to things like unique/rare/crafted/set/runewords... affixes. To balance this I would have ethereal equipment lose durability when worn automatically, like reverse repair. The idea would be for ethereal equipment to be short lived boss smashing gear that you can't use without automatically losing durability.

All in all I love the idea of taking the parts of D2 that were never really expanded on in the original game and making them a much more critical.
