Deus Ex: Revision is a large-scale re-imagining of the world of Deus Ex, bringing a tightly integrated aesthetic-oriented approach to the original gameplay.
Indeed, the aim is to make datavault maps more clear. The original vanilla datavault maps for ship top&bottom were quite complicated, and we are trying to make them more 'human-readable'. Your feedback on these aspects is always appreciated, thank you guys!
Oh it's simply SketchUp. I've created a 3D model of the three floorplans (based more on the actual ingame map than on the vanilla datavault image) and I've 'stacked' them one on top of the other, with some distance between floors as you can see (I've set the view to Perspective as opposed to Parallel).
The lines and surfaces styling has been done in SketchUp, as it has a lot of options for visual styles. Only after that, I've added the room labels and the other graphic elements in Photoshop.
Nice work on the new datavault images! They show the locations a lot more clearer albeit we'll need it! The levels look HUGE!
Yeah, it's an astonishing work!
