10 Years ago, Deus Ex was released. Its unique First-Person/RPG elements and amazing story makes it one of the most amazing Single-Player games ever. Shortly after the release of the Multiplayer Patch, an SDK was released allowing Fans and Modders alike, to tell their own 'Deus Ex Story'. Here on Moddb, there are many Big Single Player mods featured; The Nameless Mod, ZODIAC, Redsun 2020, but lost in the depths of the Internet are many other little Fan Missions that should be recongnised. The Purpose of this Moddb page is so I can upload some of these Missions, Most of Which feature in the Mod List hosted by Off Topic Productions, and allow easier access to downloading and playablity. I have optimised many of these Fan Missions to work with the UCModLoader if they didn't already. I am not credit for any of the mods uploaded here. All Credit will be given in Readme Files.
Apologies to those of you anticipating release, but more time is needed. There's a famous quote oft repeated that goes:
"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.
-Shigeru Miyamoto
And it bears repeating again. Be patient loyal fans, for now more polishing and more last-minute essential feature creep is needed: more time to accomplish true greatness five years in the making.
If you absolutely must play now, you can sign up as a tester for the GMDX v9.0 beta by sending an email to GMDXv8.0@gmail.com
Until then, the intended pushed-back release date is July 1st. Only another month.
Take a look at what has been going on that warrants another delay:
FULLY ANIMATED PICKUPS
Just watch the (twenty second long) video and all will be clear.
Alcohol, Biocells, fire extinguishers, sodacan, you name it. Floating pickups be gone!
NEW WEAPONRY
In addition to the above, we've new weaponry in the works. If you have been following may have noticed a new sawed off, stealth pistol and more. Check out the next WIP:
Community
A community has formed behind GMDX, raising it to new heights and levels of polish. A variety of diversely talented members have been assisting with textures, remainder conversation bugfixes, modelling, various translations to other languages and a sharp eye for criticism, ensuring the final release is as polished as can be. If you would like to join the community, sign up for beta testing by sending an email to GMDXv8.0@gmail.com
Here's a look at a new and improved hi-resolution Hong Kong sign texture, with Chinese translations by a native, and then worked by one of our talented texture artists:
An example of accurate hi-resolution updates Deus Ex's Hong Kong signs.
New community translations for GMDX are also in and in need of testing. If you're Spanish, French, Russian or German, please sign up for the beta. I need assurance that acceptable quality has been achieved.
If you're a programmer experienced with NSIS, please also send an email to (address provided above) or PM me here on moddb. The installer is functional but some more tweaks are needed to meet the desired level of user-friendliness.
Understand that great advancements are being made here. Much of everything is being updated in a faithful manner; it's a logical progression of Deus Ex's fantastic design.
Remember when you played Deus Ex back in the day and it along with contemporaries of the time set the standard for what you expected from the future of gaming...and consider what the future of gaming actually turned out to be. This is in honour of old standards using the great Deus Ex itself as the catalyst.

I've just uploaded a little modification I found on the web; Created by one ArcaneX; Thievery Mutator. I only found this a little while back and thought...
I apologise for not posting any new missions, I've had 'Real-Life' Problems and my computers dead..
Nope. Shortly after uploading the Mod Loader, the damn thing decided not to work correctly with a number of mods. D8
This mission takes place after the Illumanati ending. Illumanati intelligence reports have found one of MJ12's secret training facilities in Luxembourg...
*This mission was made to run with brightness set to 60%. *If you run any higher it doesn't look very good, and the final scene will look very nasty...
This is a single player mission made by liquidsnake -Known bugs 1. Do not press a button during the cinematics, because it will cause it to end! 2. Cinematics...

Can I get this working with Kentie?
I deleted the mods by accident you need to tell everybody to reupload their mods so I can play them
Hi nerdenstein - did you ever get that Counterfeit mod?
it has a new player character model, this does not play nice with UC modloader.
Oh it's quite weird I haven't played these missions of yours before! I'll try them as soon as I can :D
There isn't voice acting in these missions right?
Not that it matters!
Sorry, a little late.
ANT Agenda does have voice acting which isn't too bad but the others do not.
Man, I've not updated my little archive in ages...
I've downloaded and installed the mod loader, including editing deusex.ini so that it reads "DefaultGame=DeusExML.MLGameInfo", but there is still no new menu item. I'm using the Steam version of the game.
Umm that is odd.
Are you sure you put all the files into the System Folder?
Yes, they are all there. Am I supposed to be doing anything with the dexsmlutility EXEs?
No I kinda accidently left those in. They don't do anything important or dangerous.
Anyway, I'm not sure what the issue is, and I can't replicate it. Extracted; (1) UC_Modloader.zip to *Example* C:\DeusEx.
(2) Alter .ini to DefaultGame=DeusExML.MLGameInfo.
(3) Play Deus Ex and Mod Loader should have replaced 'Play Intro' or whatever it said.
I'm using the Kentie launcher, might that upset things? Kentie.net
Ahh now I know what the problem is. :P
Go into your 'My Documents' Or Just Documents for Vista/7.
There should be a folder called Deus Ex. Go in there and edit the same .ini file in there changing the DefaultGame=ect.
That was it, thanks! The folder was hidden so I'd not noticed it. There is still one minor problem though: everything is listed twice in the new menu.
Yeah I had a similar problem at one point. I've been experimenting with Deus Ex on different settings, using different tools and renderers ect.
I had this problem using the alternate .exe that you are using. I think it is because of DX'x core .ini files being copied in two place. I'll have a look into it anyway.
