PLAY WITH CLASSIC ENABLED!

Welcome to Demeine, a Barony content modification that replaces all the (original) levels and the entire soundtrack.

What Demeine does;
- Replaces every floor theme with a new one, featuring new floor specific textures and prefabs. Every level besides secret ones are randomly generated, like the base game.
- Replaces every secret level with a new one. The first two are re-imagined versions of the Gnomish Mines and Minetown, and the rest are entirely original.
- Changes the original soundtrack to an alternate one, comprised of various tracks by Kevin MacLeod.

What Demeine does NOT do;
- Add new monsters, weapons, items, armor, etc ...
- Alter any stats or coded mechanics.
- Make the game longer. Levels are replaced, as opposed to added in order to make the game lengthier.

HOW TO INSTALL AND MANAGE THE MOD

Note; I apparently forgot to upload some important folders in the release that has now been up for at least a month. I have updated the 1.2 release and it is fixed now. My mistake.

Create a new folder inside Barony or somewhere else easily accessible, and name it something like "Vanilla Barony". Copy the "sound", "music", "models", "maps", "lang", "images", and "data" folders, then paste them in to this new folder. Take the folders from the Demeine zip and extract them in to your base Barony folder, choosing "Yes" to merge and replace anything it asks.

Create another new folder named something like "Demeine", then when you want to switch back to regular Barony, take the current "sound", "music", "models", "maps", "lang", "images", and "data" folders and cut then paste them in to the newly created "Demeine" folder. Afterwards, take the "sound", "music", "models", "maps", "lang", "images", and "data" folders folders folders from your "Vanilla Barony" folder and put them back in to the base Barony folder.

Note that this mod is also available on the Steam Workshop, which makes this process unnecessary if you are using Steam, as you can switch freely between regular Barony and this mod through the Workshop menu.

Hi, the sudden activity on this page is the first in two years, as I have recently regained some interest in modding. Recently, I ported Demeine to Barony's Steam Workshop as "1.1" with extremely minor updates, but basically it was only just enough to get it working on there. I then decided to update and polish some content and release it as 1.2, which replaces some of the levels, makes adjustments to some prefabs, and adds new music. I'm now working on a new mod, which uses ideas and some content from 2.0. Either 2.0 will be completely absorbed in to this new mod, or 2.0 will become its own standalone mod if it's distinct enough and I still have the creative energy and drive by then.

Demeine 2.0 has been halted for the foreseeable future. I then show some unseen content to try to lessen the potential disappointment.

"Files" at the top, "Demeine 1.0", then the red "Download Now" button. Note that Barony has been updated a lot so I am not even sure if the old version of this mod available here works. Lately I got back in to modding and am polishing up Demeine a bit with a little bit of new content as well. When it's done, I will be uploading it to both the Steam Workshop and the page here.

Thanks for the work, I thought the mod was great! I played through it once so far, but I think I enjoy the starting area the most. I call it the battle for the bridge.

I am glad to hear you liked it. I wanted the starting area to have more interactivity than the one in the base game, so it was one of the sections I had some more fun with creating. If it had been possible, I would have had all the humans and enemies begin fighting on the bridge once the player got near by, so it would look a little more 'cinematic'. This might be possible with the new editor, but we'll have to see.
