Ready to play mod for Age of Empires 2 The Conquerors.

Adds Definitive Edition stuff to The Conquerors. Only good for Random Map games!

Can be used as is (ready to play) or you can copy and paste the “Games” folder to a full The Conqueror game installation (you must have userpatch installed).

All credits belong to their respective owners. Graphics and sounds imported from Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition.

Uses the same Object/Tech Id’s as DE. => Custom AI’s made for DE should work (except newer than 1.5 UP commands)

You should play maps made for AOC +UP 1.5

Differences from DE:

  • Graphics: some graphics are different, units not visible behind buildings (except villagers, but they don’t have updated graphics)
  • Many civ bonuses not working or changed: Tatars hill bonus not working,
  • Some civs team bonuses not working: Burmese, Burgundians
  • Keshiks do not generate gold when fighting, but cost 32g instead of 40
  • Some Technologies: Maghrabi Camels (camel units don’t regenerate their hp, but get extra HP) , Atheism (same as in AOC), Flemish Revolution (upgrades future villagers into flemish militia too), Scutage (gives every ally 900 gold)
  • Serjeants cannot build Donjons
  • No music
  • No Campaigns and scenarios; No Battle Royal or Capture the relics game modes
  • No auto-scout, auto-farm and other DE quality of life improvements
  • Starting age set to anything but standard (dark age) makes the game full of bugs.
  • Some buildings have no destruction animation. This is to save space but mostly to prevent bugs
  • Glitches in the tech tree : weird lines leading to nowhere, buildings showing as not available
  • Slavs speak Bulgarian (on purpose, not a bug)

No longer updated as of 2 february 2021. Feel free to continue the mod, but i recommend you just buy AOE2 DE. If your computer cannot run it, buy a new computer.

You have to paste it in the data folder, for example like this: AOC_DE_final\AOC DE\Games\DE\Data, and if you want to look or extract sound or models files, you have to use turtle pack to open it
