I played Defense Alliance 2 when it was an Unreal 2004 mod. There was never anyone on the servers, despite the great game I thought this was at the time.
Releasing the same maps and content on Unreal 2.5 and with Killing Floor seems to defy the game's purpose (team versus). I hope at least it will get maps and gaming modes specialized for Killing Floor. I don't know what it has to do with Killing Floor, though. They are two very different games.
killing floor started off as a ut 2k4 game as well that is still on the ut 2k4 engine. other than that they have absolutely nothing in common. doesnt hurt to make a mod for killing floor though seeing as not many people actually play ut 2k4 mods anymore.

It does have specialized killing floor modes along with the regular gameplay.
I was looking forward does this mod and was gravely disappointed. I've never played the first DA, and I don't know how it compares, but it seems like the main focus of the game is turrets. No matter what you do or where you go, you always get shot by turrets. Also, there is a lot of bugginess, like for instance when trying to build and repair objects.
However, not bad graphics, weapons are ok and I like the violence/gib system. But the whole "ragdolls flying into the air when they die like they've been shot out of a cannon" thing is a bit much.

Needs some work with the zombies being overpowered ... i thought it would be the same as surviving waves but instead you get patriarch less than 2 minutes into the match and become insta RAPED
edit: Also, got hit by patriarch, i survived the initial hit but i FLEW across the map and recieved over 9999 damage from the fall
I think it's pretty awesome, love the defense attack type gameplay with all the explosions and stuff going off. Feels really intense with all the particle effects and shell shock. I think it's great, don't really care for the KF mode though, like others said, a bit too difficult.

Whaever happened to the UT2k4 version? I mean, KF was made on Unreal engine 2, and the original DA2 was for UT2k4... are those cross-compatible?
Technicaly, yes. its the same engine
i remember a good time working on this mod, but somehow i remember the team beeing dead, i wonder why DA2 is now available as KF-Mod Oo
