It was firstly mentioned to be a combination of Commanche and Apache with heavy weapons, because I was the one who had a idea for Sioux

What volen says here is not correct.
The name was Volens idea but the idea of the heavy gunship had in fact been there for a long time.
It wasn't originally aimed to be a combo of Commanchie and Apache, well, for everyone but volen it wasn't anyway.

Actaully no. You came up with the name for the Sioux. You presented us with a concept of what you thought it should look like and we rejected it.

Instead we ended up basing the final Sioux on this concept: Collectiondx.com

Hope that makes things clearer.

As you can see the tail has a new wings design that eliminate the need for a rotor. There are other gunship designs today that use the same logic - tale wings that replace the rotor need.
Also Volen i can understand your frustration, but making comments like that will simply put you in a dark light. Most of your ideeas have already been replaced, and the verry few ones that are still in will suffer modifications. Again this vendetta of your is something that will simply make you look bad, not the mod team.

no nubis, the chopper uses some kind of air circulation mechanic, not the tail :) that would be physically impossible.

actually anibis is rite some choppers have done away with the tail rotor for either a wing design or a double rotor

simply installing a double winged tail ain't gonna stop your chopper from spinning around like crazy.

on the other hand, a double rotor with contrary rotations will.

this chopper however, uses neither. it uses air circulation and ejection to keep straight. look it up.

well yeah it has to do with the shape of the tail

Reply Good karma Bad karma0 votes

no.

it's thrusters located at the tip of the tail that keep it from spinnin'.

the shape of the tail (the Y-shape) is simply aesthetics.

i know but still the shape of the tail can help to eliminate counterspin. i KNOW this one is just their idea

You are incorrect, the system used is called NOTAR. It uses an internal fan to produce a jet that pushes air the same way a tail rotor does. The makers of this mod even mentions this: Moddb.com

Hello Jim. Hah, yes, that's the design we modelled the Sioux off of. I had no idea it was from an anime, a team member saw it on google and the design was just too cool to pass up. :P

Well done for realising it. :)

Yup that's what we based it off. One of our team members was searching Google for cool helicopter designs, when they found the link to the Hellhound.

We liked the design, so we modelled and skinned it.

Recently, we've edited the design a bit from this older render.

We'll show the new design eventually, in one of our monthly updates.

Description

The Sioux is the AC’s heavily armoured assault helicopter. It was created by combining a totally new frame with lighter yet stronger armour. The result allowed more weapons to be added onto the heli, without a significant increase in weight or loss of performance. With its effective mix of armour and weaponry it rapidly began to out perform all known gunship designs. The Sioux’s twin repeater cannons lay waste to all targets ranging from infantry to tanks to even the mostly strongly fortified structures. To give it an edge they also equipped it with specially modified, guided AT missiles in an attempt to wipe out all visible targets without any threat of retaliation. These were stored in old style pods in order to help prevent malfunction and to the hide the new technology from other countries. Even though they were stored in pods, these missiles took so long to arm that only 2 could be fired at once before another set could be prepared.
