You run under the pouring rain trying to reach your apartment. You finally get in, you don't plan to go out again for the night. Everything seems normal, it's late, the streets are empty and the building is silent as usual. Nothing is strange, nothing seems out of the ordinary, there is nothing that would suggest that tonight will be very different from the others you had to endure. You wake alone, you walk alone, you eat, sleep and live alone. You struggle daily to keep up with your life, everything got out of control so fast. What happened? is it the medicine? the depression? maybe loneliness? What happened?...

YES!!! I have been waiting for this one to come!!
So here is my feedback:
I watched the whole thing two times, and here is my opinion, the walking "animation" needs a little work maybe at least at my point, it seems a little bit too robotic, I don't know how to call it. The zoom function looks really great, there is a lot of useful things you can use that with. The inventory menu looks awesome, but maybe it should be a little bigger. The animation when you stop, like the breathing animation, it's really good to see, so the character doesn't just stop in place without moving. The Phone Gui in my opinion needs some work. I have an idea that I would love to share, you could maybe do a phone like GTA5, and those icons would be the apps. Oh, and the mapping, it looks really good!! Idk if that is but it looks like Bumpmaps, that's always good to see on a mod!

Here is my feedback, I been loving to see this mod progress!!

hey Rafa! ok lets go point by point so I dont miss anything. So first of all, the headbob (or the camera movement while walking) has been edited lots of times and we are not sure if we are getting it right yet, so we are going to definitely tweek that a bit in the future. Zoom is cool, so checked :P. Now, when it comes to inventory, smartphone and the ( soon to be revealed) notebook, we dont want it to be too overwhelming, what im trying to say is that we actually want to keep it small so it doesnt cover the screen with buttons and backgrounds, specially the smartphone since you will be constantly checking objectives, messages and using the keyboard, but something like the gta 5 example is not a bad suggestion, we might give it a shot and see how it turns out. Breathing animation is also cool for the exact reasons you mentioned, so we are glad you like it. Last but not least, yes, the engine supports normal mapping in general (bump, spec, gloss, etc. ) so thats another good one checked :D. So to sum everything up, we will try to play around with the headbob and see what it can be done with the smartphone UI. Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it Rafa! take care!

Heya again! So I have read everything, and I saw something that got, even more, my interest, a notebook?! That's awesome! I think it would be cool if the player could write down whatever he wants, or maybe draw (not for drawing penises of course :) ) instead of just appearing a note there like Cry of Fear. I think you can get inspiration from L.A Noire, it has a really good lookin' Notebook. The inventory, cellphone thing, I don't mean like a big screen with all the functions but think like of the Resident evil 1 inventory but a little smaller, with the ability to see what's going on around you on the game when you are for example selecting a key or something. Oh, and btw, as I said on my youtube comment, I meant UI menu not GUI, The phone UI it's a little bit too transparent.

awesome Rafa, good news is that we fixed the headbob, so it now feels more smooth. We will update soon if we make any progress with the smartphone. And yes, the notebook will help you store important documents in general, including pictures and other stuff, we dont know if we are going to let the player write anything on it, but its not a bad idea. On the other hand, the smartphone will probably be upgraded in general, we are working on a feature that will allow you to receive audio files and possibly pictures aswell. See you on the next update Raf, thanks again !

Description

In this video you can see our inventory and smartphone interface in action. STRESS engine was created with the goal of modernizing the way goldsource sounds, feels, looks and plays. Every gameplay feature is being designed with the idea of keeping it simple ( insert Apple/Macintosh joke here ) In the horror games of old, like Silent Hill or Resident Evil, you ussually have tons of buttons displayed on the interface such as check, equip, drop, combine, eat, smell, etc. And as much as we love those games, we feel that kind of gameplay is dated and some of those mechanics are borderline backwards, specially when it comes to younger players. So how does December's Cold handle that? Simple, To check the description of an item, just hover the mouse over the desired slot, if it is a usable item (like a key) you just need to click on it to use it. Finally, if an item is equippable (knife, gun, medicine) it only takes one click to equip it. The logic behind all the game interfaces is TAB + click or click + TAB we have no intention of complicating it at all.
